Fecked slave cylinder

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by sunnylunn, Apr 7, 2016.

  1. Morning all
my slave has failed again, 2nd time, first after 4 laps at brands, Mark black sorted that for me and fitted an oem genuine new one, I did Silverstone GP with no problems and now the bastard has gone again in Spa after 5 laps, pissed off doesn't cover it, anyone have any suggestions why this keeps happening, I'm running SRFfluid , I feel there must be a problem somewhere

  2. Drop it off at Mark fish mate, he's supposed to be a bit of a genius and more local to you mate.

  3. If you have the receipt for the work & the slave is less than 12 months old then take it back as Renault will replace it & cover the labour. I had the same issue with my trafic.

See mines not like that so I'm not sure, one minute my bite point can be on the floor and the it's back to normal, it's all over the place.
    Very wierd.

  9. Or let Mick at diamond motors take a look Martin, fresh set of eyes needed I think mate

  10. Mark Black is going to sort it out, i just feel there is an underlying problem with something , but there really isn't much that could affect it is there? i don't want it spewing again on another trackday, other than that, it was flying at Spa

Mine only got replaced August 2015 and my clutch pedal is on the floor. Is it definitely the slave cylinder?
Also does labour to replace it take same amount of time as replacing clutch or is it easier to replace?

  12. If the clutch went to the floor when you were using the brakes heavily there is a chance its just the fluid in the clutch line overheating /air in it..

The mk2 runs the clutch and brake lines off the same fluid reservoir - so if you run uprated brake fluid is probably prudent to stick the same fluid in the clutch line.

  13. yours isn't the one I was pushing round at Rs tuning on Friday was it. They have one in with a knackered clutch from spa..

  14. that'll be mine

  15. Did they find out what's wrong with it Martin ?

  16. prongs on the clutch plate were bent in a bit, making the slave go past its operating range just glad he's sussed whats wrong with it.

I wasn't. I had just got in the car after work in the morning.
Took it to my mate over the weekend and he's told me it was sorted. Said he'd bled the clutch but as I was leaving work, same thing. Clutch on floor, won't come out of gear.
