Here's a video from yesterday at the Nurburgring that I shot having fun with two Honda Civic TypeR's that have both been chipped to 420bhp. Our old Meganes are still up there in performance terms! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuc...?nohtml5=False
Only Federal 595's....it's a cost thing .......if you spend three times as much on Dunlop Direzzas then that's good for about 10 seconds a lap. Trouble is they last about a third of the time!! Direzzas will go all day where the Federals I have found "go off" after three laps and need cooling down. It's not worth the extra cost as a fun thing for me....
They are on the stock Continental Sport Contact 6....the only tyre recommended by Honda as the car was designed around it and if any other tyre type is used the car warranty is invalidated.
Piper Cross air filter 200 cell sports cat Milltek exhaust including downpipe KW Clubsport 19mm spacers Full cage Race seat Schroth harnesses OMP steering wheel M tech short shift Gearbox stabiliser bar
No not re-mapped, however, as stock even the 250's came with about 265/270 bhp and with the filter and exhaust I would guess at around 280/285 bhp now. There's a real power battle with some of the owners of these cars and people are spending a fortune on trick diffs, weight loss, mapping, intercoolers, tyres, 17" wheels, de-cat, suspension, carbon bonnets, bootlid, perspex windows and for sure that's worth about 20 seconds around the Ring but at what cost? I've heard that some of these cars are costing €60K/€65K and the running costs are higher. My little car is fast enough for me and I am still able to play in the pool with the BIG fish!! Some of these wealthy guys are not such big-shots when it comes to driving!!
That is very nice to hear. And your driving skils are top the late brake etc it was a joy to wach . Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
Nice Spec and very nice driving mate. Good to see you enjoying another meg out there. Agree about £££/Speed, its good to know when enough is enough, and its all about exiting the track with sore cheeks because you've been grinning so much
That's some remap to gain 110bhp ... Also I wouldn't be bothered about tyres voiding the warranty when it's been mapped lol Nice driving Paul , knowledge is power out there , the first type R doesn't seem to know where he's going but the second one soon disappears I'd like a new type R but not at over £30k Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i just couldn't bring myself to part with that amount of money for the new type R,looks gash for me, the RS Focus seems a much better bet.
£25K for a nearly factory fresh Type R that has only had a gentle arse grazing on the drivers seat ain't bad if you could live with the awful looks. That's £8K of depreciating pain someone has already kindly soaked up. Personally, a decent 250 slightly tweaked as per this thread is where the value is.
Checked with the owner about the power and I made a mistake (translation!!) it's 380bhp and not 420 bhp....
Looks as if they don't know the lines very well, still good driving. Can you put up any details of your car?
