  1. Hey all,

Thinking about trading in my 250 cup on 39k miles for a 2003 Honda S2000 on 39k miles.

I'm 23 years old and thinking "do it while you're young" but worried I'm going to regret it.

Has anyone had an S2000 that can give an unbiased review ?

Just don't feel like I've glued with the Megane as much as I thought I would currently..

  2. lol as if this is even a post !

  3. I don't know what else it is ? I would say it is a post

  4. i cant stand hondas but the s2000 is one id choose , i just would not replace my meg with one

  5. Wouldn't float my boat.

Someone should have said Vtec yo.... It's like driving a turbo car that's not a turbo but pretending you've got a turbo.

so not as bad a though for the earlier ones which is odd when it's the same g/km

  10. have you tried a lotus?

  11. I'll be honest. I like the S2000 only Honda I would drive though. Hold thier value like nothing else I've seen (of recent years).

    Cannot emphasis this enough.

  13. I haven't tried a lotus but I'm not sure what sort of lotus I would be getting into with the sale/trade in of my 250 to be honest as they are pricey !

I've had a type-r before and know they are hard work but I just can't see any other two seater sports car that take my fancy (excluding lotus) really.

I have noticed prices for S2000 on the rise so thought it would be great to scratch the two seater itch and not drop much in value. In fact it would probably gain value once I'm done with it.

I've been talking to the dealership with the one I mentioned and they initially wanted £1500 off me to jump straight into the Honda. I told him there is not a chance.

The only thing that puts me off changing cars is the hassle of other people ! Haha

  14. Brilliant cars. Admittedly I have mainly driven them on track but a decent and really well balanced chassis, proper steering and amazing engine. I believe it comes with a torque multiplier controlled by the sweetest gear change...

  15. I've only heard of good reviews for the S2000. You should definitely get yourself a 2 seater drop top while you can.

  16. Don't let other people put you off mate. Life's to short to live by other people's opinions, do what makes you happy.

  17. Have you been able to get a test drive in an S2000? If you liked it I say go for it.

  18. I've only been a passenger so far but I will hopefully get to test one out at the weekend which will be the decider..

  19. put your heart aside and there are a few things you have to appreciate come resale and ownership.
    Its an inefficient engine
    commands high tax
    high insurance
its a discontinued continued model and i think you'll get a poor trade in value.

If these things don't matter then go for it.

you probably could get a good elise 111s or even 111r really for that budget. Don't bother with a lotus if its going to be a daily drive.

  20. I looked at them before i got my r26, what put me off is the age and that most have been totally abused and I feared the high number of things that could go wrong on such an old car - saying that my r26 has cost me a fair bit to keep going so maybe not the best comparision

Apart from that I drove one years ago and they are very good fun

  21. I'm going to look at one tomorrow evening. Although it's a ropey one which I have no intention of buying it's just to get the feel for it. Hopefully they aren't idiots and actually let me test drive it.

  22. You must be mad !! Not even that quick. Look up crank walk on s2000s common fault on engines leads to engine failure . Happened to a mate of mine who bought one due to being a Honda and thought it would be reliable. Not !! Engine only had 69k
