  1. Quick question does the Megane 225 lock automatically after a few minutes?

  2. Yeah mate. My 225 trophy does anyway.

  3. cool thanks think i might have locked my only key in the car. What a numptie

  4. Nightmare mate. Do you have breakdown cover ie AA or RAC

They can come out, use an small airbag device to open top of the door slightly and use a rod to open the internal handle.

  5. if it has keyless entry just stand near it and it should open anyways??

  7. Yeah think I'm getting the AA out today would the airbag deform the door at all?

  8. It's your only option I'm afraid buddy but also the cheapest and easiest way.

No, won't damage the door. You'll be suprised at how much give they have in them. He'll only need around an inch or so to get the rod down onto the interior handle.

My dad used to work for RAC and he showed me how it's done. 5 minute job.

I take it the car doesn't have keyless entry as stated above??

Also can you see the keys inside the car?

  9. No its bit keyless entry. And no I'm not sure it's in there it's been missing for 4 days now, I wasn't using it for a while. Wednesday was the last time I drove it and haven't seen ithe key since. I've searched high and low so it's kind of my last resort.

If its not there what are my options? Can they read a codebook the ignition?

  10. If it's Keyless entry and the key is in the car then all you would need to do is press the button on door handle and it would unlock.

If it doesn't open then it sounds like the key isn't in the car and too far away to be unlocked. Or car battery flat??

If the AA does get into it then the alarm is gonna start blaring and if your keys not in there then it's gonna be a long noisy day lol till you find it.

Last option is a trip to Renault Dealer tomorrow and order a new one.

  11. Update; the man from the AA was too afraid of damaging the door and paint so he told me to ring an Auto lock Smith.

His advice was pretty good, since I am not 100% certain that the key is in the car he could end up opening and damaging the car and I'd still have to get the new key programmed when they can come out and pick the passenger lock instead.

    Also it's not keyless entry.
