Mine goes in for 4 year service on Monday, got some squeal issues that are really annoying

  2. Squeal issues will be pad related but the black discs looks cool

  3. Waste of money

  4. Are these not only available for the Mk 2?
    They do look pretty cool.

Its a shame the Tarox 2 piece discs are soo expensive.

  5. I thought these discs were just a coated version (with grooves) of the brembo hi-carbons?

  6. MBC

They aren't a waste of money if they're the same price as the renault ones!

  7. I've got them, the bells (if that's what they're called) stay nice and black. They do squeal unless you're braking quite hard but they're paired with the fast road pads from ktec, and I suspect it's those not the disks. They've also lasted really well, I've had them on for almost 2 years and they look like new, but that could be the fact that I don't really give them a hard time!

  8. I believe they are £40-£50 less than Renault ones.

For me I can't picture my car with black front discs and silver rears, just would look a bit weird I think

  9. They're black until you use them...

Renault parts direct do the genuine front and rear cup discs for about £187 a pair, Ktec matched the prices for me the other week, but don't tell them I told you all lol.

  11. I find it hard to find anything on the Renault parts site

  12. Not a bad price against the Renault price tbh

  13. Give them a ring. They are a Renault main dealer. They will do you a deal.

  14. Shite, I had them! Cracked pretty quickly!

  15. that's not good, what were you using them for? I don't do any tracks or anything.

Just been told (in for service) that discs and pads need changing, along with 2 tyres.

Don't think i'll pay Renaults £570 they want to change the them + something they mentioned above the caliper may be sticking causing the squeaking

  16. He also mentioned about replacing the sliders, as the caliper is probably sticking. Is that the pins?

  17. Yeah I do track it but I'm not overly heavy on brakes, I've gone for brembo HC's now and they perform so much better!

  18. the inside edge of my drivers side brake disc is rusty, wondering if the caliper is stuck or due to the fact the disk and pads are pretty worn

  19. Is it correct that the Cup discs can go straight onto the normal version? would like to change them.

And should i get the pads to match?

  20. Yes. I'm 90% sure they are identical except one is grooved and one is not.

  21. Thank you, it was answered in another post though! i got impatient as this post was no longer getting any attention.

Ordered from http://www.renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/ who turns out to be from the Renault dealer i get my car serviced at

Odd how they wanted £360 for discs and pads but i can get it from a website they run for £256
