Cheers mate!! Dunlop direzza dz03g, 29r and 28f because it was cold and damp, in the dry usually run lower!

  14. Get a shift light fitted. I appreciate with the lid on and the adrenaline pumping it's more difficult to pick up the engine screaming but you seemed to be spending a lot of time bouncing the Rev limiter.

That said I enjoyed and you did a good job. Anyone moaning post race needs to stick to trackdays. It's all fair once it's a competition!

  15. I enjoyed that. Looked very intense and difficult.
Any pics of your car post race after the bumps?

  16. Hi dru
get yourself a set of wets for next time
There wouldn't have been any bumping as they'd have needed binoculars to see which way you went
    keep the vids coming

  17. Not quite. There are some written and unwritten rules depending on the series. It's no a free for all.

  18. Ok fair enough but I didn't see anything deliberate or dangerous. Certainly not anything against MSA black book theory anyway.

Wet racing is always a bit of a lottery to be honest. I remember seeing one car in a wet race I was in at Silverstone go off on the exit of Stowe and somehow managed to smash the car up in the barriers on the outside of the circuit about 150 odd ft away. Banging a bit in the corner because its wet and greasy and you loose the back end, not much one can do about that other than keeping more space in the wet, it happens. Going over the grass though and banging into someone looks like loss of control which when your on the receiving end is not nice but still these all looked like accidents to me, its the intentional stuff which gets racers really worked up. Had it done to me by a right a-hole at Mallory, decided to bang my car out of the way when I was taking avoiding action and had slowed a bit from an accident up ahead (waved flags as well). I was seething and was going to complain later but the guy lost it on the exit of Gerards and smashed his car up good and proper a few laps later. I spent the next lap laughing rather than worrying too much about the race. Karma and all that.

There is an amazing amount of truth in that. One of my friends and track coach managed to avoid a lot of tangling by being quick enough to race away from the door bangers. Its the bit just in front of the midfield that is the problem area in most series/championships, always one or two drivers that are a bit of a liability and quick enough to get themselves into scrapes on a regular basis. Unfortunately one such racer was a friend of mine, he got quick but had terrible spatial awareness, almost took both of us out once in qualifying, he just didn't see my car and turned in on me. One guy had him by the throat once up the wall, he genuinely didn't mean to punt that guys car off but it just always ended up being him. He managed to write off 2 other drivers car in one season, one of those drivers had been punted out by him 3 times in one season.

  23. A good series will monitor driving standards but you can never negate a serious lack of skill.
