Starkey's White RS250

  1. Thought I'd start one of these threads as I've got a few bits planned for it. Previously had a Clio 182 which I sold for the Megane.

Picked it up around 2 weeks ago, been a bit of a crap start to ownership - had the rear tyre blow out on the way home from picking it up but shit happens I guess! Car is a real nice spec full fat with xenon headlights, cup chassis, RS monitor, heated leather etc, just missing the leather recaros which I plan on buying when some pop up.

Treated the car to a full decontamination, polish and a wax this weekend but needs a serious paint correction as it looks like it's been through a car wash in it's previous life! Only thing I've done to it so far is fit my private plates and get the mid-box chopped. I current plan is to get it up to RS Tuning in a few months to get it mapped, fit the H&R springs I've bought and just enjoy it!

As I needed new tyres and was planning on getting my wheels refurbed anyway I found a set of brand new steev's of a rb7 megane with new michelin pilot super sports for a decent price

  2. Clio looks lovely and so does the Megane. The RS250 is such a nice car out of the box, it needs little to make it awesome!

What seats do you have now then? Cloth recaros?

  3. Cheers! No it just has the heated leather seats at the moment, bought it with the plan of buying recaros, but ended up spending the recaro fund on new wheels! Had a quick look at yours on instagram last night, looks lovely - have I seen you driving about in avonmouth before?

  4. I see, I thought you may have been selling cloth recaros then. I have cloth sport seats.

Cheers mate, I gave you a follow back. No never been to avonmouth, not many blue ones about 26 in the country I think.

  5. looks really nice mate

  6. Ahh, thought it might have been yours as the blue ones are quite rare!

  7. Wheels look good buddy, I'm the chap you collected them from so cheers for not saying anything nasty about the chap you got them from

  8. haha cheers mate, was a long day coming up to you but definitely worth it, looks loads better without curbed wheels! also good to see your megane, pretty much how I want mine

  9. Not much to update really, fitted a pipercross cone filter last week - not sure if I love or hate the noise, does get pretty annoying hearing it constantly sucking air!

Also purchased a 3" scorpion decat today, hopefully get that fitted and mapped in a few weeks.

  10. Like it alot mate, they always look good in white

  11. Looks good fella. Really can't decided if I want to put an induction kit on mine or not, I think it might annoy me after a while. I put the scorpion decat on this week past though and absolutely love the noise off it and the pops and bangs are wonderful lol.

  12. Cheers mate. Does make a nice flutter but going down the motorway you can just hear it sucking air in which is slightly annoying! Did you fit the decat yourself, looks a pig of a job so I'm probably going to get someone to do it for me!

  13. Yeah I think it might be a bit much for me I reckon I might stick to panel filter. I'm heading to RS Tuning in a couple of weeks and really can't decide on cone or panel but I'm really swaying towards panel filter.

I didn't fit it myself a friend fitted mine while I watched on lol. It is a pig of a job, Renault book time is 4.9hours, it took 3 hours in total. I think Renault factor in removing the subframe but we done it with keeping subframe in although it was a tight fit to remove the original cat, was much easier going back the other way lol.

  14. Looking good mate.

You probably won't hear the induction noise when a decat is fitted. I thought the noise my panel filter made was going to do my head in then I fitted the decat and I can't hear the induction noise.

Decat fitting is a bitch of a job, I'd get someone to do it. As when mine was done the downpipe bolts snapped, not a job you want to be doing on your drive.

  15. Dont forget to buy exhaust gaskets ready before doing the downpipe as its quite common they need of changing. Smart to check the exhaust manifold bolts also as it can be that those are loosen.

  16. Looks nice!

  17. Looks good in white, kinda like a cup car!
