Strut Braces for 275

  1. Bad anyone fitted front and rear strut braces to their Megane? I'm looking at purchasing some for fast road and Track use, Do people recommend them? I've got a Cup Chassis and adjustable dampers

  2. I couldn't imagine them doing much tbh mate.

  3. Really? Had them installed on previous cars and felt they benefited on track use

  4. I have both front & rear braces fitted and like the results.

  5. Anybody got a link to a recommended rear strut brace?

  6. Particularly on the front they aren't much help as the suspension towers are close to the bulkheads which provides a lot of strength.

Not sure about the rear but I doubt there much flex in the body.

  7. Might be the placebo effect but it always felt better front end wise with them fitted might not have done anything but worth a try

  8. Need to drill holes to fit!! Would be nice if RS Racing in spain could get a group buy up for their rear brace which dont need drilling.

  9. It would indeed, not going near my car with a drill.

  10. I'm after one like there just to put in and out when needed really don't fancy drilling anything on the car

  11. The rear shocks or springs do not efect the geometry of the wheels and as such a rear brace is more for looks..

  12. Why did Renault fit one in the Trophy R?

  13. Looks like that bars just holding the boot net on the trophy, is it even mounted on the shocks? Looks a bit far forward.

  14. Possibly more for style than anything. It'd look a bit bare at the back without it.

  15. I've seen Ktec do a front brace? I really do not fancy drilling my car just for a brace in the boot. I do like the harness bar Ktex do but not enough to warrant the cost of that tubing

  16. Don't think the braces are what you're after - the chassis is sufficiently stiff that you get feedback on turning. If you're trying to adjust under/over steer then it's the anti-roll bar you'll want to swap out and experiment with softening / hardening
