How much have you lowered your cars ?,

could anybody give give me measurements from ground to arch, front and back please ?

Also, can anybody recommend somebody to set my suspension up please, Im in North Dorset ?,

I'm fitting Nitron R1's next Saturday, and I'm putting the spacers on the driveshafts as well.

Im off to the ring on 22nd April and I want it all sorted before then of course.

    thanks in advance

  2. Alright Shaun,

glad you got the Nitrons mate stunning piece of kit.

North Dorset? Ktec close to you then. They set and fitted mine had a little chat with Floyd whilst I was there, he said he wouldn't bother with the spacers, hasn't got them on his, didn't put them on mine and they don't put them on any of their customers they have fitted. Wouldn't have a clue with how low mine is but it's definitely lower than what it was with H&R springs on. They also set the front to -2 degree negative camber.

Can't really tell from the images but you saw it at Bedford last month. Couldn't recommend ktec enough especially now Floyd's there he's such a sound guy.

    Cheers Jake,

I didn't realise Ktec could set it all up lol, they've done all the work on my car so far, I've got the driveshaft washers made up, so I will get them fitted just to be on the safe side.

I'll call them on Tuesday and get it booked in, they need the car back anyway to tweak the map after I had the cooler fitted, yours sits perfect, if you get a chance to measure it over the next few days, I'd appreciate it.

The Nitrons will be here around Wednesday, I would of bought the Clubsports but these came up as you know so I snapped them up.

  4. Hi Shaun

Did K-tec do your map originally??.
How do you find it? I've heard mixed reviews about there maps.
Will be getting my 265 mapped at some point and k-tec is the closest place to me. Also that's where I bought it from.

    Hi Mike,

Yes mine runs a K-etc map and it's been spot on tbh, Floyd knows his stuff there, I'm only 12 miles from K-tec as well which helps, I'm back there on Thursday having a full set up on my suspension. My car was supplied to its previous owner by them and I bought it as David said it was a good one.

  6. Lovely job thanks Shaun will keep this in mind for the near future

  7. I'm not anti-Ktec and Floyd is a legend. They've mapped my car which I'm happy with and carried out various other work for me.

My only thing I didn't get on with personally was the coilover set up. Now I don't know if it was just bad luck or my driving style that didn't suit. But I took it to a motorsport company near me who set it up and it was like chalk and cheese before and after.

It's a little unfair to compare the set up of suspension with Ktec who do a variety of work against a company that specialises in nothing more than suspension set ups and corner weighting etc for motor sport cars. It's a bit like going to a charity shop and buying a 2nd hand suit and saying it does the job but wasn't as good as the tailor maid to measure one from Huntsman for £4k+ but I would say if you get Ktec to set it up certainly give it a run out and see what you think and consider a proper set up to get the maximum effect from it.

For reference a full set up for me which was near 4 hours and corner weighted to get a 65/35 front/rear split and 50/50 cross weight was less than £200 anyway.

  8. I got them to fit my front KW Clubsports. After picking it up it felt like a go cart, but, the front was way to low, so i raised it up a bit. I`m know hoping , after jumping on the back of Shauns thread, that someone can shed some light on my problem. They have been on the car for 6 months, & due to winter i have barely done 1000 miles. I
I now have a metal clicking(loud), when on full lock getting in & out of my garage. I dont have any steering issues & i`m trying not to think of it as CV/ drive shaft as Renault want £500 for one side! Has anyone else experienced this? I raised it up 10mm on the front & it seemed to go away on one side, but now its back. If i Google the problem i end up with about a million results for Clio`s.:mad::confused:

  9. Did you solve this? I have a noise but it's not when turning it's over bumps? Hope it's not a drive shaft.

  10. My noise is from my Performance Friction 2 piece discs after they get some/alot of heat into them.

  11. could be lower arm links, had similar with me old clio, cheap to replace aswel.

Not on the Megane, I assume you mean the anti rotation link, they are around 55 quid a side [emoji23]

Edit : sorry they are 48.40 from RPD

  13. I found that the 'ring needs a higher ride height than what I had, else the wheels were rubbing arches. I'm on 18s and had around 2-3 inches clearance. Need another inch or so and it'd be spot on.

Or a stiffer set up/more camber Neil?

The Raeder spec ones run pretty low on low offset, wide wheels but they have quite a bit of camber

  15. Raeder set them up to 34 cm arch to wheel center up front, 35 cm in the back (on their modified KW Clubsports). I took some measurements on my stock car with Cup suspension, and that seems to be around 37 to 37.5 cm up front. So they lower the Méganes by about 30mm.

The ATS GTR they fit are 17x9 ET42, not sure about camber settings though, but I'm guessing -2 to -2.5 up front.

They recommend -2.5 as a minimum on them.
