Haha, you do have to be careful with these with a decat. The lack of restriction in the exhaust will really give some extra boost, and the torque is likely to get a bit scary for standard internals! Really should take it easy with a decat before having it remapped on a dyno
Hahaha! It had a ktec map previously but last week it had SMF and decat and exhaust so that will be reason was so high. Luckily not been anywhere in it after work was done apart from drive home and then down to Paul s today. Was a shock like haha.
Could have been map that was on car previous to me buying car. But the 3" exhaust and decat will have had an effect, but yeah I doubt 40lb from decat and exhaust. But all sorted now
Forgot my printout like a noob. But didn't get a printout of it before just what Paul told me and what was on screen
Anyone got pictures and videos of the cone filter yet??? Ordering mine tomorrow, thinking of going for green performance now
Been to RS Tuning this morning with my 250... I've only had the car for 4 weeks and after coming from 2 Clio197's the Megane has felt fast although there was a slight nagging feeling that I wasn't getting the most from the engine. I'd put it down to taking time getting used to a Turbo from the naturally aspirated, high rev Clios. After a couple of runs on the Dyno I was told that there was something wrong - it was seriously down on power. Seeing pipes coming off and the guys chatting I was fearing the worse (and a hefty bill)... However, an update to the onboard software sorted the early issue and the power was up to where it should be. A few more runs were needed before the work was complete - See the map below: As you can see - the car was running at 231.5 but left at 292.2bhp. I'll be honest - I was disappointed not to hit 300BHP but then I suppose I've got to be delighted to have a 61BHP (+26%) turnaround..! I've not had a proper chance to open the car up today but the pick up from 70mph to 95/100mph is very punchy and initial feeling is good. I think the car was one of the first of the production line - the software installed was very old and the onboard trip computer is half metric/half imperial. Apparently this was picked up by Renault and a fix implemented but the previous owner hadn't done anything about it. Anyone else with a very early 250 should get their car on a rolling road to see whether their ECU software is causing the car to run low on power. I was told that by simply updating to the latest 265 software brought the car to 271BHP. Kudos to RS Tuning - they could have said x,y,z needed doing at £££ but they didn't, nor did they charge for updating the software... Now I just need to sort out a DRL and this bloody metric/imperial thing n the car will be up to my standards...!
Glad it got sorted, dont think ive ever seen a 250 run under 250! Like you say, down to very early software those gains will make the car feel completely different when you go for a proper spin!
just give them a ring, I am sure he would be happy for more business, £100 off for him when he has 20+ ppl spending £350 ish still makes good business sense
I've booked in but forgot to ask him about the group buy, I've filled out the contact us bit on the website so just see what happens
What kind of increase are people getting on a stage 1 map ? I'm not chasing big power , just wanted an idea of what to expect. Standard r26 with no mods
Guys hope you can help, Currently mines got Miltek system with sports cat, recirc valve & pipercross enclosed filter, not been mapped yet but made 246bhp on rollers and 225flb Now I want to get it mapped but I'm looking at the 250 turbo, front mount, injectors and decat before I do. Do you think it would be safer on standard internals to keep the sports cat instead? Does the 250 turbo just bolt straight on or is there some adjustments to be made? I know you probably get these questions a lot but come the end of the month, those bits will be bought, just making sure it's work spending the money. Thanks!
to the people who have had their 225 Stage 1 maps do you think it was worth the money and does your car feel much quicker? I hear a lot of people say it feels quicker in say 4th gear onwards but how about lower down?
I'm sure there will be someone close to you who will let you have a go in theirs and do a side by side comparison.
What do you think now it's mapped, what other mods have you got and what did it chuck out? I'm there on Monday
Hi guys! Car made 272 standard with cone filter and mid box chop, then was remapped to 323hp with 340 torque! Paul said he couldn't work out why it was making so much power haha! Said it's the most powerful stage 1 they have done to date! Drives amazing! Cone filter sounds crazy, though can be quite loud at times but sounds just too good to put back to panel filter! He also installed launch control which sounds the tits but won't be using it any time soon to protect the clutch will upload the graph when I'm back at home tomorrow
Dang, really wanna do this to mine but there bloody miles away edit, actually not as far as I thought...... hmmm should probably wait for the gearbox to be replaced though. Did you notice much of a hit in mpg?
Its a pipercross filter not sure of the size, had it fitted while I was there but it's huge! Will measure tomorrow for you guys it has a bigger neck I.D than the intake pipe as it requires a reducer to fit. It really does fly now haha! Mpg hasn't changed did a little better on the motorway on the way back. Ruined it in the lanes though with all the induction noise and dosing when letting off and changing gear. Not keeping traction in second and the odd time in 3rd in the dry is the problem haha got conti 5p's on and still no grip! Will be changing to Michelin pss's next so hopefully they will be a bit better
Hello all I'm looking to get in on the group buy, fancy getting my RS250 mapped. Is the group buy still going ahead? Dan
Got mine done today it made 263 standard and 300 remapped, torque was around 340lbft,it's transformed the car
Got my stage 1 done today. It made 230.6/247lbft standard and remapped to 256/277lbft Pretty happy with that tbh.
I f you have the RS Tuning remap done and then later want to return to standard spec' I assume this means another trip to Leeds ?
