I have to say my first experience with a "ford store" was truly crap and ended with me cancelling a mustang order. My current ford store is better, but still shows this ford store stuff to be nothing but a gimmick. So much for the higher level of service.
Try Seat , they are a whole new level of useless, the Seat dealer i got my Leon from wouldnt even give me a quote to buy it back, told me it was to specalized, , , , they kin sold me it lol
Slip sliding away, slip sliding away You know the nearer your delivery, the more you slip sliding away....
Delayed orders and now this. Some reality back into the situation. Beaten by a Golf. Good advert for DSG tho. Can't wait to see a Ring time for this new Ford RS, and not expecting a revelation.
Ford are not giving anything away regarding delays on the new Focus RS. Loads at the front of the delivery queue are getting mega frustrated.
Cars should be released next week so a few weeks after that delivery should start, I have been told mine is due for build in April hopefully it will be early April so I will get it late April early May. Couple more videos here from TG magazine
Theres no doubting its a very capable car, However it sounds terrible in person and by the sounds of it once you start tuning them your going to start running into heat issues with the drivetrain if used hard. Limp mode etc happening on stock cars while being used hard on track due to drivetrain overheating would be ringing alarm bells if i was a soon to be owner.
You mean when they have been hammered all day by journalists, with that happening after hours of abuse. Doesn't worry me in the slightest.
I suppose being an RS it isn't likely to get used on track that much anyway, More likely parked up in a line of almost identical Focus'
It sounds as good as any other 4 cylinder turbo, crap, just like all standard Meganes I've ever heard lol. With regards to going into limp mode, it depends on what you mean by limp mode. The system will shut down the rdu until it cools down and becomes a totally fwd until it's cool enough to switch on again. Sounds like most systems modern awd cars have these days and shouldn't worry anyone.
Lots of strong rumours that the rear drive train has quality issues, hence the delays in production. Most of these Fords only seem to end up in the hands of serial polishers and only tuned for quick blast up a dual carriageway or to bond with fellow polishers. Rarely spotted on a track, which is a shame because it would be worth buying an old Megane 250, nipping it up to 300 bhp and dropping on some decent boots just to spank it around a track.
They are just that though, rumours. Hopefully it is true and we get a beefed up rdu! Mooooorrrrrreeeeee poooooowwweeeeeeeerrrrrrr!
Not many people want take new cars on track, for obvious reason. I do quite a few trackdays and you don't see many mk3 Meganes either (unless it is a Renaultsport day)
Best you can hope for is a standard RDU that doesn't fail. What you meant was - no more power. Mountune might give you a couple of bhp more with a nice looking air filter though.
Lol, none have been confirmed as failed, they went into protection as designed. Unless you have actual knowledge you're just as informative as every other internet expert. What I meant was more power! That was what I wrote. And if that's the best we can hope for with the RS, the best we can hope for with a renaultsport is that it's not infected with leprosy.
I'm sure you said you were hoping it might be a beefed up RDU lol No deliveries, no gate release from the factory, delays, no mention of any extra power from Mountune. Its going to be a very good motor when people eventually get it, but still a fat old lump and all that weight for a bit of cornering feel.
You don't see many MK2 Ford RS out there and they are the same generation as the MK2 Meganes, R26R etc. The only ones you normally see are just parked up in the paddock - with wax on.
Read the post properly, I commented that they are just RUMOURS! If the RUMOURS are true and they beef up the rdu it might mean more power. Jesus. There are currently no deliveries or gate released cars due to a QC issue, that's all that has been confirmed. Anything else is RUMOUR peddled around by Internet experts. It's also RUMOURED that they've run out of black paint, body panels and are waiting for new sub frames for the cs seats. Pick which ever you prefer it'll come out one day.
It now seems loads of these new Focus RS have been built but are piling up at the factory and not being shipped due to quality issues.
Bump time. The potential Focus RS owners have been getting so, so excited as a few of these have now been spotted delivered to Dagenham. Shame they are all just Press cars. All the rest built are still stuck somewhere outside getting slowly shat on which annoys the hell out of the potential first build owners as most are OCD serial polishers lol. More delays.
Is it not a bit weird that you spend a lot of time trawling the Focus RS forum, when you have no intention of buying one, or even indeed genuine interest?
Something about new cars coming out that brings out the troll in people. Each to their own I suppose.
I like to keep a broad interest in the motoring world. Based on your very rare input to this Renault forum, you must both be potential Ford fan boys.
Ford are now letting the huge backlog of built motors out of the factory. Might see one parked up at a trackday in 2016 after all. Will it be worth a comment from the rare posting closet Ford fan boys?
