Hi All Does anyone have a K-tec half cage fitted, what is your opinion of it. I am looking at getting a half cage, had my name down on the group buy that didn't happen, although the company said they would do one for me but nothing has come of it. Also there isn't anyone close that can make one for me, so a bit stuffed
I've had a peek at one and think it looks nice. I just for now wanted for my purposes to keep the rear seats in for now so have gone the harness bar route. Being a 1/2 cage it's for me is really just a bit showy over purpose and I did wonder in the unlikely accident of rolling the car whether it would mean the front where I'd be sitting would fold in being the weak spot. Whereas with the harness bar it's 4 bolts to remove the middle beam and the car is basically back to normal but useful when on track for the harnesses + camera mount.
Hi Andy I have bucket seats and no rear seats, i have looked at the harness bar and it is quite expensive for what it is, was also looking at the rear strut brace but with what was said on hear it's not the right thing to use. The half cage main bar is behind the front seats so it should hold up the roof so i am not worried too much, any extra strength has got to be a good thing.
Where is everyone getting a harness bar from? I've only ever seen one on eBay as a prototype. Is someone selling them?
Interesting. May well be having one of these rather than a rear strut. Presumably you can retain the rear seats too!
Agreed Ian they are quite expensive. However I've bought Floyds which worked out under 1/2 the price listed on site. Not sure I could of justified the Ktec price but that said they're the only ones selling that piece so they command the prices and market.
theres one on ebay at the moment http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-M...466927?hash=item210b3cfc6f:g:U5AAAOSwr7ZW3IQs
Their half cage, for the Mk3 anyway, Really isn't upto much and i certainly wouldn't feel any safer with one installed. I had considered it but on the word of some respected cage builders and people who know a lot more about that stuff than i do, I decided that a proper custom job is far better, Plus its cheaper.

Hi Russell I will give him a call, but close to me its 250 miles away and about 4 1/2 hrs each way. Also i don't do farce book
Did see that, but i believe a few on here have had custom ones made for less money and better quality
