I've had a car polisher before but it was years ago and did a job so to speak. Moving house soon and want to get a set up sorted out! 99% going for a DAS-6 Pro, but need advice on what else I could do with - My Megane I'd wager has never seen a full machine polish in it's life so I want something suitable for getting the paint back to a good state. Don't want anything that's going to get me into trouble but on the other hand I'm not a full 'tard so something that's actually going to make a difference is preferable! Ta!
I found the paint fairly hard work with a DA. 3M Fast Cut Plus on the yellow polishing pad did the job to remove swirls, but i'd normally reserve this for more serious marks and use Menzerna PO85RD 3.02 on a yellow pad, however this barely touched it. I even had to pull out the green compound pad with FCP for a couple of bad bits.
Mine being Nimbus hides swirls remarkably well but when the sun comes out (occasionally) they jump out - it needs doing..
The chemical guys uk account suggested v36 with a green chemical guys pad to me. When I attempted mine I used merzerma pf400 or whatever it's called. It's the heavy cutting compound with a white pad and it's still full of swirls! Maybe I rushed it a bit? Mine is black.
