Knockhill 4th April 16

Discussion in 'Track Days & Track Driving' started by evojkp, Mar 7, 2016.

  1. Anyone booked in for this track night at knockhill. It's going to be my 1st one in my 275. Must admit I'm really looking forward to it. Last time I was on track was three years ago in my 250.

Intend on quite a few sessions this year when work allows.

  2. Had a mad moment and booked 14th May as well with the SIDC full morning OPL.

  3. Haha good work mate!!!

The first one they laid on did sell out very quickly - I didn't manage to get on it...

I have the dreadnought one in the 1st week of May and then the TrackScotland Reverse one on the first weekend in May.

Quite tempted by the April one you've booked on...

  4. Got to admit I'm looking forward to it. Already scoping out days down south as well. Got to justify coil over purchase somehow.

  5. haha Brilliant!!!

Yes, the summer will come and go before we know it - seems like a lot of the good days at KH are getting booked fairly early this year.

B14s? get them set up at SWR in Stirling?

  6. Not sure what units to get. Probably will wait until after a few trackdays so that I can appreciate the difference.

  7. Anyone else going up tonight? Looks to be interesting with heavy rain forecast

What sort of tyre pressure do you guys run? Had a quick look and could not see any info. Guess I'm on a suck it and see, especially with wet weather tonight. Think I have roughly 2.2barg all round, will check soon when I go and empty my weekend road trip crap from inside it.

Also had my first fail, buying something for the car. Bought the KTR tow strap, but thought it would be a straight fitment.....doh!, will need a bit modification to fit it properly, so it'll be the standard tow-eye for me tonight.

  8. Absolutely cracking night. First track session with the 275 and was blown away with the handling and mechanical grip in the wet....very wet.

Wet weather helped with brake fade, managing easily 15-20 laps and no drop off in performance, handling was spot on, although very lively on a trailing brake, making it easily adjustable mid corner. Outright pace was good enough to pass and keep up with a lot on track apart from serious machinery such as race ferrari, GTR, R8 V10 and a few well prep'd race cars that past me like I had an anchor attached lol.

Does it need coilers? No, but it will get some

Does it need BBK? No, but it will get one

    And managed to get 8mpg....quality...lol

Roll on the next one

  9. Great stuff mate!!! - was going to ask how you got on!

    Weather was total Guff! :worried:

    LOL at the mods

I just need to get a higher tensile rear axle bolt replaced, and a brake fluid change and I will be good to go!

Any more dates in the diary?

  10. Just 14th May so far with SIDC but on the hunt for others. Just need more time at home to be able to get them in.

Tonight with the weather was fun. As the light was fading about 7:30 in the spray you could not see a thing except brake lights when they came on.

  11. That looks like a good day - heard they are very well organised..

I have 2 2 hour ones the week before - the dreadnought and then the 2 hour TS Reverse on the Saturday.

Will need to get some June and July slots booked quick.

I fancy trying to get a 2 hour 1-1 tuition booked - though I have been saying that for about a year lol

  12. I think I might do that this year. Reckon there is a lot of improvement to be had from my driving
