Hi Im upgrading from an R26 to a 265 and confused about the specifications... Are there 3 versions: standard, Cup and premium versions or just one version?? Any help? cheers Nick
Same as 250 265 full fat (all interior goodies but no cup chassis) 265 cup (cup chassis but no goodies) 265 full fat plus cup chassis option (all goodies plus cup chassis) then its usual extras of type of alloys/recaros/paint etc
I've always thought of it as... 265 (all interior goodies but no cup chassis) 265 cup (cup chassis but no goodies) 265 full fat (all goodies plus cup chassis, hence full fat)
Thanks for this... I have arranged a test drive for a basic 265 (not worried about the Cup chassis) Excited...
not really dude. Common mis interpretation from the RS clio 172 Days . a 265 is not a FF. A 265 is just a 265 A FF is a 265 with cup pack. Then you have the 265 Cup. There is no 265 FF plus Cup terminology.
You like the megane so get one that suits your needs with the options you want.If you do lots of miles none cup chassis with 18" alloys will be fine , but if not and like to give it some a cup chassis is a must.I'm not sure if that many cars are a like anyway.make sure you push the sport button down on the right hand side ,it will come up on the clocks when activated.Red brakes means cup chassis
Are you sure about not having a cup chassis? The cup chassis includes the LSD, which is a huge part of what makes the Megane as capable as it is. The market has plenty of cars with the cup chassis, and despite the slightly harder ride, it is still comfortable day to day (person opinion of course). I personally wouldn't even consider one without.
I have a 250, non cup on 19's, drives very well with a map. Can't speak to much for grip as the garage i bought it from put shite tyres on the rear which I've not replaced yet.... they were new after all.
To make things even more confusing the standard 265 is the fattest one as it hasn't had the cup diet!
Not to mention you can get a 265 pre and post face lift. iirc if my car was 1 month newer it would have been a 265
Well, I test drove a 265 from Renault west London, a nice guy called Ahmed looked after me. I took out a 15 month old ex demo 265 Sport in Black, with 8000 miles on the clock, and .... It is perfection built on perfection... I was skeptical if it could better my R26 which I have had for 7 years (Miltek, K-tech tuned to 270 bhp and 320lbs). omg, how could I be so wrong..the car was a beaut to drive... So, we did the deal and I am now the happy owner of an RS265 which wil be delivered next week hopefully. So, whats the first mod?
Tank of V-Power and drive the thing with the sport map selected! Congrats mate, get some pics up when it arrives.
Omg the 265 is amazing to drive , and smoothe round the bends. It's a class above the R26 which was perfection. I will ill upload pics once I figure out how lol
Glad you've got it and all is well. They are a better all round car than the mk2 - Renault did a good job with it.
You're right, the brakes are the weakest part. Pics are fine BTW - car looks great. What's under the cover?
nice in black ,was wondering what under the cover myself but thought it was a bit nosey ! , answers on a post card ,looks like a ford fiesta to me ?
