  1. Apologies if this is in the wrong place or whatever.

GSF have a 40% discount code; Feb40. Click and collect or delivery this weekend

Just ordered standard Brembo pads and Bosch spark plugs £40.

    Hope it comes in useful.

    Thanks.

  2. That's good I'll need to have a look.

I'd cancel the order for the Bosch spark plugs though. These cars only run properly on the standard NGK plugs.

I am sure they are standard 225 / r26 front setup, the rears on the 225 are different to the r26 ones

Order both and return the wrong ones, i do it when ever there's a choice.

  12. Awesome code just ordered up for my daily front / rear discs, front / rear pads, some aero blades for the Megane, front / rear disc pads for wives motor alongside front / rear pads, saved me £318.90.

Sadly most of my items can't be delivered for some reason so got to make a 50 mile drive to Northampton to collect but for £318 saved more than happy to do so

GSF are shite, They love to subsitute the quoted brand for a different one of "equivalent quality"......

  16. These discounts are absolute rubbish, I work for a motor factors and laugh at these "deals" as they are off RRP.... The LUK number for the R26R clutch (624331609) for instance our "RRP" is £224.21 + VAT but my actual "over the counter price" ranges from £129.55 to £149.48 + VAT (depending on discount level)

Going by the GSF "deal" at 40% off our "RRP" price would be £134.57 + VAT which is £5.02+ VAT more than my lowest std over the counter price, you see how these deals lure you in with their big percentage off offers...

  17. And I thought only women fell for the 'look at how much I've saved' routine.

  18. Disagree it depends on what your buying from them. Items they sell little off the prices will probably appear hyped up and inflated other items they sell lots of ie. discs / pads will give good saving.

Audi quoted me £164.96 + VAT per front disc £197.95 each / £395.90 for a pair of front discs.

GSF are £100.80 each / £201.60 for a pair then 40% off making them £120.96

Thats £274.94 saved over the counter from Audi, and yes I looked around and of course I can get cheaper than Audi prices but I couldn't find anywhere selling them for less than £175 delivered so £55 saved on just the front discs compared to other sites or £274 saved by anyone who is silly enough to pay dealership prices.

  19. Comparing main dealer prices to aftermarket you'll 99% of the time save £££ without any discount offers. As I get everything we sell at cost it's never an issue I need to overcome fortunately.

    Steve

  20. Totally agree hence saying its unfair to compare to dealership, but anywhere else on the net I couldn't find them for £55 more expensive elsewhere, such as eBay, Eurocarparts, Audi INDY's etc.

  21. There's also some real crap quality aftermarket parts out there. Our friends in nations around the world are great at knocking this sub standard stuff out. I have even heard they can put labels on things to make out they are from quality manufacturers. Can't believe it myself.

  22. Too true, there are some parts available I wouldn't fit to my worst enemies car lol.... Buyer beware, just because the box looks nice doesn't mean the parts are of a quality you'd expect..!!!

  23. The implications of selling for example a Brembo branded product listed as Brembo, in a Brembo box would result in 1000 people losing jobs as the company folds. Maybe if I go off eBay through a random seller or if I go down some dodgy unregistered garage down some back street in Moss Side Manchester then I'll get counter-fitted items but I'll probably be more likely to walk away still with genuine product that's just been robbed off someones car.

I wear my tin hat next time I'm putting Shell V-Power in my car, the conspiracy theorists will be out there telling me really they fill up normal fuel at Morrisons for 97p then sell it for 107p at Shell.

Guys posted on forum a discount code, not forced anyone to use it and for some people its worked out useful why the need for so much hate

  26. Unfortunately, it's all too true. Whilst in about all of the cases you will get a Brembo pad or disc in a Brembo box from a reputable dealer, once you go for a pattern part that is often a cheaper and tempting alternate, sometimes even through a well known supplier, then quality can be suspect.

  27. Lol. I thought you had calmed down.

  28. lol, i'm fine, thanks, i thought perhaps you had.

  29. It's common for companies to "rebox"...

LUK for example if they don't do a certain clutch will buy from SACHS etc and put it in a LUK box.

Intermotor ignition etc componants buy genuine parts and rebox into Intermotor boxes (you'll see that the OE number has been filed off)

ADL will buy filters from Mahle and rebox into ADL boxes.

There's also brand names that have been bought when companies have gone under such as Lucas and Pagid which basically sell on the basis of the name being a good product in the past (we sell Lucas here).

Then you have companies that don't make anything at all and everything they sell have been out sourced and reboxed into their own packaging.

  30. Like Tesco Beans in the White can with no packaging that are made by Heinz at the same factory, on the same product line.

When I bath myself in tub full of beans I always go for the cheaper product of the same quality.

  31. You can't beat Aldi for a windy bath experience.

You will have to let us know where you can get really cheap new Performance Friction 2 piece discs in a different box.
