Help; car won't start; check injection

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by ginge191, Feb 7, 2016.

  1. So I changed my injectors yesterday. All went fine. Started and stopped the car on numerous journeys.

Went to start this morning and nothing. Almost as if it's a dead battery? Doesn't turn over.
    Can hear it priming.

Whilst I was checking plugs (lambda and injectors) she said it flashed up with check injectors.

Any idea? Going to disconnect the battery first then go from there.

  2. Update on this:check injection message appeared whilst i was checking terminals and she was attempting to start it.

Turned to flat battery symptoms - jump leads on, still nothing.

Turned to starter motor symptoms - pushed down a hill, and voila it fired up. Drove to top of the hill, stopped the car, attempted to start again and nothing.

Am i thinking it's a starter motor issue? OR could i have overridden other issues by bumping it?

No warning lights, management lights, fault codes or anything at all..

Does it get to the point where the solenoid should fire in the starter but doesn't so it whines? If so check the battery is connected properly. It sounds like a connection or battery power problem if it bumps but doesn't fire off the battery.

  4. Mine did this and was dead battery. Not just flat.

  5. So an update on this; the battery is fine - it's showing a green light and hasn't been fading at all. I'm almost certain of this.

The solenoid on the starter doesn't fire (no clicking) nor is there any spinning from the starter itself.

So, i'm thinking dead solenoid/starter, or fuse gone on the start stop button?

Is there anything else i could be missing???

But no, no whinging, no clicking, no attempt to go for it

    Worth checking your battery terminals.

  8. The outcome of this was a dead start motor for future references. Why it said check injection i'll never know. Renault repaired it eventually and couldn't find any faults relating to the injectors at all. It's been running spot on since the change of starter motor including a track day.
