Getting to the end of my tether with an interior rattle, so much so I might sell the car!! It's coming from the rear passenger side of the car and sounds like plastic on plastic! It's not the normal boot rattle that 250s have. Can anyone shine a light on this for me? What can I check or look at? This has only developed in the last few weeks.
Mine has developed one of these this weekend just gone! Rear interior is coming apart this weekend if it doesn't shut up on its own.. I'll let you know what I find
fold the back seats forward and go for a drive, see if it still rattles, i had similar, it was the rear seatbelt mounting, sprayed everything with silicone spray and stopped the rattle, hope it works for you.
I'm getting the same thing I think, although it gets better if you clip the seatbelt n instead of it lying against the seat. Is really annoying though... Out of interest, what is the boot rattle mentioned by the OP due to? Don't think I've seen this mentioned.
The boot lifters were rattling on my 250 (as opposed to the usual boot latch). Some silicon spray sorted it.
Ive got a boot rattle but im f**ked if i can find it. Though it might be the boot not seating equally on the two rubber stops but that didnt sort it. Apparently you can adjust the boot lock ? I cant see how
Im going to have to get some silicone spray and do my boot lifters etc as it seems I have that rattle on my 250 also. Cheers.
Mine has a rattle coming from the back when car going in low speed. Rattle will be gone if car goes faster. I still cannot figure out whether it is the boot or the seat or the seat belt or anything that's causing the rattle. Oh my car is 265.
remove plastics around where the lock catchs, and the catch will be fixed via longated holes and a kind of ruler markings in the metal, unloosen bolts and move downwards, tighten back up.
I tried the followings to identify the source of rattles: 1. Folded down the back seats 2. Removed the boot cover 3. Removed the boot carpets (both) 4. Removed the spare tire and tool kit, then put them back in and tightened up Anyway, tried above but still no luck finding the source of rattle
as a 205 owner for more than 20 years, that means i have been working on finding the rattle from time to time for the past 20 years. finding the rattle while YOU are driving is not easy and very dangerous. better get someone to drive it for you with stereo/air-conditioning off and simulate your driving, you sit near the suspect and pay full attention to the noise. most of the rattles are between plastic parts or knackered interior panel clip. good silicone spray/new clip can cure the issue (wurth seems the best, 3m tends to bleach the plastic).
I know this is old, but did anyone sort it? I've also been getting a rattle from the rear passenger are I think (it's hard to pinpoint when driving). I've pulled out all the rear passenger interior panels but still it's rattle so no idea what could be causing it!
Hate trying to track rattles, as sound tends to move, I just ignore most of mine, joys of owning a French car
My rear passenger vent ( behind bumper ) rattles at idle and slow speed. The other area that ive found that rattles is the large plastic panel around the boot catch. This fixes on at certain points with dodgy metal push in clips.
What do you mean behind the bumper? And by panel around the boot catch do you mean on the sides where the boot light is?
Hi Charlie, When you lift up the tailgate and look down you'll see the metal striker that the lock latches to, around this is a large plastic piece of trim. The vents are at both rear corners. If you pull back the rear carpet in the corners ( vertical carpet quarter trim ) and look down as if behind the rear bumper you will see the vents. These vents are designed to assist with cabin pressure. Kev
