Yeah and by all accounts it is a much better system. Still like the feeling of only two wheels trying to put the power down though. Whether it be FWD or RWD. They should have gone proper Ford and made it RWD. As someone else else said I also agree with the theft thing. And everyone will constantly be trying to race you.
I agree but how many owners will take their £30k car on the track? I will not be taking mine on as much as I want to that is why I have a track toy. 4WD is great for our country with the crap weather and Ford have made it fun.
Who's gong to use drift mode on the road, its a gimmick in my eyes.who wants a second hand drift car come resale time ? .Vw / audi been using there 4wd system for years, tried and tested, ford haven't , could be product development for the first ones one the road
Looks to be the hatch to beat, seems to get great reviews by anyone who's driven it.Looks better than the last one imo as well.
I really like it, it's really grew on me look wise. Think it's the only other car I'd think about upgrading the megane for in the same sector.. Even when I threw a benny and almost sold my megane not long ago with the luck I was having with it, I was looking at what to replace it with and nothing interested me. Loved the look of the megane the first time I seen one and how it makes you feel when you drive it. Instant love haha. i am a bit of a ford fan deep down though.
Must admit i missed the Megane when i got the Cupra, never really gelled with the Cupra like i did Megane or the Clio 197 cup i had before the Megane, Im really hoping thr Focus gives me the buzz the Renaults did and the Cupra failed to.
That was just how I felt with my 250 but always wished I had got the mk2 Focus RS and when the MK3 was announced I was all over it, but nothing appealed to me until that point. It was the longest I have ever kept a car nearly 5 1/2 years, just hope the Focus is as good.
Yeah been on order since September. I know they all seemed to have moved to May but hopefully that will move forward as soon as these first few cars are off the production line, I want a date for my car ASAP as it is stopping me booking my holiday to France in July.
Just had a look at some of the latest vids on track and it does seem to be able to move about like a RWD. How much of that is down to the rears helping it out through the 4WD system who knows. Not as pure a drive as 2WD system and just how much fun factor and real pace there is on a track is still TBD. Superb pricing Ford.
Yep couldn't agree more the Germans should take note ! Under £30k that is a lot of car for the money.
Smart move. With these possibly being in speculator terititory, there is scope to tuck it up and make a bit of money or you could just drive it as nature intended.
My plan is to just drive it, it'll be my daily and hopefully I'll get to do some track days in the R26. It's said that the uk will see 4500. I personally think we'll see whatever they can churn out before they start building the mk4 focus.
Doesn't surprise me, I think they were at 1500 before the first wave cut off date. The reviews will only push that number up.
Wonder who will be the first to have one up for a premium and more importantly how much over list. There will be a fair few chancers with orders already in.
I see the private punter is also looking for £36.5K. All just speculating on build slots. The real action will start with the physical cars.
I'm gonna wait to see what people get with a remap on these. Imagine getting 400bhp for a £350 remap...
Did you spec the forge wheels?, I did but I don't like black on black so will get them finished in anthracite immediately. Hopefully not, insurance is coming in cheap at the moment and I'd like it to stay that way, I'm sure once a few have been drifted into ditches that might change.
Yes i went with the black forge wheels, i do like a black wheel. I might try a go at drifting but in a very large and empty car park lol.
When I get more time I will find the article which explicitly states it. Here is the Jalopnik review which alludes to Fords statement at the end: http://jalopnik.com/the-2016-ford-focus-rs-is-god-in-hatchback-form-1754930368
Im sure Ford will have built in more durability given probably 80% of the Mk1's and 2's have been mapped. It'd put a lot of buyers off if it can't at least take another 50bhp.
