Hi boys, the above happens when i indicate left and brake, and when i apply brakes not indicating, my rear indicators light up very very little, any ideas? Car is r26
clean all the connections and clean the earthing points in the boot. there behind the plastic boot trim where the boot latch is on the car not the boot
Did you get this sorted mate? I'm having a similar problem with my R26. The right tail light is flashing slightly when the right indicator is on and occasionally the right indicator is flashing twice the speed like yours.
Had the same with mine. it was the earth pin in the plug that connects to the light cluster. Fairly simple to take them apart, pull the pin out, clean up and put back together.
Got it sorted, but not sure what was the issue really, only earth, where artached to the shasis looked dodgy. some old wires strains left from something connected and removed later. I removed it, checked bulb(looked loose in socket, this could be the issue?), connector looked fine. Its working now
Glad you got it sorted mate. Turns out mines doing the exact same thing, braking with the lights and OS indicator on is causing the indicator to go 2x speed. I got someone else to brake as well as indicate while I looked at the lights and it's basically a disco lol. OS indicator and brake light go out, the reverse lights flash slighty and the OS tail light flashes as well, in other words, a total mess. Will try and get it sorted this week.
It was easy, thankfully. I had a look at the connectors and all the contacts in the light cluster plus the earthing points. I couldn't see anything obviously wrong so I just gave everything a quick clean, put it all back together and now it works fine.
Seriously - check the light cluster plug! its not totally obvious, but iirc it's the centre pin is the earth pin and that one I found was not handling the load very well and scuzzing up. you may well get it working again by sorting other smaller earth deficiencies but that won't last.
Only have 2 hours of free time a day(banging 18-6 night shifts every day) and its raining, not letting me have a look at it
