Hi guys thanks for looking. My car has come back from the body shop after having the front bumper painted. They are saying that this is the best they can get the bumper to fit. If you look at the pictures below there are what the repairing garage has said are pressing marks underneath the headlights. These are basically indents in the bumper that are unpainted. I had never noticed these before but am obviously paying more attention when inspecting my car after the work. So to all mk2 owners is this normal with a perfect fitting bumper? It has already been back to the garage once as they didn't get the alignment on the wings correct. Since returning, the wings are perfect but these "pressing marks" are still visible!? So is this normal or should I continue to moan to my insurance company? Cheers
Mines the biggest pain in the arse ever, it never sits right. Yours looks better than mine does if that helps haha!
My Trophy has exactly the same indents bud. Ive just took my new front bumper out the box and its exactly the same. I'll get some pics in a sec. Kris
Nice one cheers guys, thanks for the responses. I didn't think it was normal for them to be showing as I hadn't really noticed them beforehand. Do you think a new bumper would cure it? I'm unsure now weather to carry on moaning to the insurance (non fault accident) to try for a new bumper as I hadn't noticed them before or just accept it so don't know what to do now.........
Mine sits like that following a respray, and there's an uneven gap between the bumper and bonnet, does my head but it's a Renault thing!
Were the marks visible before the respray, did you get it done yourself or an insurance job? Yeah I've got uneven gaps underneath each headlight, one is much larger and the bumper/ bonnet gap isn't even either. Surely Renault wouldn't sell them new like this?
No I got fed up of the stone chips and had it professionally done, it had weird gaps before. Renaults are quite well known for their strange panel gaps, although the new cars are a lot better quality
