250 Dodgy Locking..

  1. The other day I had a bit of an embarrassing few minutes which felt like hours..... So I nipped into the local shop for some stuff, hopped out locked the car.. In the shop for no more than 5-10 mins, come back out to the car try to unlock.. Absolutely nothing. So I'm standing outside my car like a twat with all this stuff and can't get in haha.

so I thought aw yeah, there's a manual key. Well after mucking about with that get the passenger door open and BAM.. Alarms starts going off instantly.. Trying everything in a panic I put my key card in the holder, the wrong way with the manual key still in my hand so it got stuck.. Also said key card not recognised. Eventually prized it back out.

Don't know what I done in the end but combination of taking the battery out the key and putting it back in again and all this other stuff it just magically started working again... Popped the key in pressed the start button alarm went off.. The best bit is I almost drove away with my shopping lying on the deck after all the fannying about haha..

Must've looked like a right helmet.. I swapped my keys and using what was the spare to be safe just now. Maybe just shitey cheap batteries in my key? I also have the suspicion my battery is playing up so could be that?

Mine done this once, Alarm going off as i opened it with the manual key. Was fine after i started the car though and has never done it again

  3. Yeah it's only done it this once for me since I've had it... And I had it parked up again after that and it was absolutely perfect locking and unlocking again. Weird one.

Why do they make the battery cover on the keycard so hard to get off btw?!

  4. You want to get out of the car in a supermarket car park whilst busy talking with your misses, wander off & spend 30 mins shopping, only to find when you get back that you didn`t turn the car off, & its been sat there ticking over for half an hour:mad:

  5. Christ!!! Maybe you need a louder exhaust??

Feel for the OP though. Been there and done that, I know how it feels haha

  6. Glad I'm not the only one to have done this haha.... Not to that extent mind, always seem to notice just before I walk away. Done it more than a few times, it is pretty funny. Why are those wipers still going...

  7. I tend to use the manual key to prize off the cover - works well and is right there in your hand anyway..
