Oh really? My mate used to have a set on his 182 we went out in track quite a lot loved them! What ones are you running?
I've got some made by specialised brakes at nurburgring he makes them for the rsr rental company. Im getting endless pads when I fit these
I run RC6 in the summer and the OE pads over the winter. Bang for buck you won't get a better pad. And they perform just as well if not better than pads that are double the price.
No doubt these are nice but IMO total overkill not to mention the price of rotors are way more than a set of discs. The best combo on a tracked Meg is the solid OE discs with 'proper' pads.
Like £250 a pair of fronts. You're doing well (or doing something wrong) to ruin them after 2 track days. I've done 3 knockhill days and a 4 day stint (over 20 laps) at the ring all on aggressive pads and there's still life in them yet. The OE discs are pretty good.
There isn't a problem, I said they were nice just overkill IMO. You don't need to have money to buy a set of 2 piece discs. It's not exactly a fortune at £420 considering you can buy ones at double that.
These ain't even real two piece discs because they are not floating so are purely for aesthetics don't have any benefit over solids other than maybe a little less unsprung weight which doesn't make as much of a difference on meganes anyway because of the front hub setup.. I do agree standards or a proper fully floating setup is better value
I got the set up for free and deffo wouldn't buy them new but as I needed new discs why not? My discs where brand new and after 2 track days I had horrible shudder but current discs on these where used and still done 4 track days and 10 laps if ring and felt fine. Either way these where part if Xmas present haha wish money was no object. Wheels where imported from Japan on an evo to a UK seller
Where did you get your black cup headlights from mate? Looks spectacular and so mean from the front!! Are they by any chance the same as these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/361391382895
So as 2015 draws to a close its also to end of a year of ups and of course one down but on the bright side I got my megane early may and after 8months I believe she's come a very long way. My views on meg ownership are nothing but positive, it's by far the best car Ive owned amd see this being a long term car where as I usually change every year or so. Favourite mod? Probably should be clubsports as they have mad this thing a different animal but I have to say my wheels haha no matter where I go someone comments on them or recognising the car because of them. What's going down for 2016? Cae shifter, possibly hybrid turbo but for me more nurburgring trips and track days, 17x9 or 18x9 wheels with 255 section up front and go hunting some big cars...Oh yer a few time attack sessions so thanks to everyone for all the comments I've recieved, the warm welcome since my arrival a few months ago and from me have a great new year and see you all in 2016
Great to see it back so quick. New rotors look awesome even if thats a biased comment. Looking forward to seeing 2016's plans happen. P.s. I still can't see your name on the attendee list for Snetterton 300 January 31st and you @dru
Cheers odison Is the et alot higher than the standard alloys Does it affect handling in anyway sure I've read it does Don't you have more evo alloys for her too Think you should donate them to me
the offset on the enkeis are ET42 so like have a 23mm spacer on the 19" wheels. they are only 7.5j so don't really run these for track now but I have 18x8 et45 team dynamic and will be going 17x9 et45. the whole world of wheel fitment is a long tedious one but ive been talking a lot with a few guys from Germany who use their Megs for mainly the Ring. hahaha Jack ill try get on it sun shine lol thanks Brayster
do keep in mind when you want to run the 17x9 ET45 you will have to run around 3° front camber and personally i dont think it is fun for daily use and for your tyre wear or is it not much of a hassle with the clubsports to change it evrytime you switch sets ? i have heard about a company that makes high offset wheels http://www.fondmetal.com/ and i saw it pass around on facebook that a megane RS had 18x9 wide rims (9RR i think) just with high offset so you did not need to dial in alot of camber to make them fit als if you contact them they can get the "best" fitment for your car http://www.fondmetal.com/en/setupfondmetal-com
I didn't get any pics but was simple literally 2 wires I'll get link to ones I used in a second, where only £6
Car is looking great Matt. The discs look fantastic too. Surely there is a benefit to two piece discs even if not genuine 'floating'?
Slight weight advantage and thats about it really. Need something like the PF kit to get any actual 2 piece benefits
Yeah the benefit is unsprung weight but the front hubs on the megane cancel the need for it out really
