250 Removing std catalyst

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Steve Barrett, Dec 19, 2015.

  1. Is it a straight forward job on the floor?

  2. I don't think it is. I think you need to take the drivers side drive shaft out to get the old cat off.

  3. Nope. You'll need to strip the hub off the drivers side, remove the shaft, remove the lower engine mount, remove the wipers and scuttle. Then a whole lot of swearing will commence while trying to split the exhaust and remove the cat from below.

  4. Just to add, I've remove wipers/scuttle and undone the 3 turbo bolts (wanted to make sure they undid before going any further), but the cat looks a lump and concerned how easy it is to get out of the "hole"

  5. Sorry, been attempting to write on here whilst phones going mad at work....

Sod that then I'll wait and do it on a ramp lol
