Shame, but if he'd have bought a mk2 Megane that would have been normal when it was spitting. Seriously, on 53k I'm sure that can be rescued, and it should be.
He has an r26 aswell. Which was not caught in the flood. Were waiting to see what insurance say. Pretty sure she'll be weitten off.
Shame but there's no way that'll be fixed. Even if it was, looking at how high up the water was you wouldn't want to keep it anyway because it'll be plagued with electrical gremlins. Ideal for a track build though.
I had the same thing back in 2012, with my Audi TT, got caught in a flash flood when a river bank burst, got trapped in the car with water upto my chest, couldn't open the doors & had to climb out the boot & onto the roof..... Car ran for a year with no problems & is still on the road today.
Wow, that must have been scary Why wouldn't the doors open exactly? Would the window not go down either?
The drivers door wouldn't open because i was on a duel carriage way & stopped as close to the central reservation as possible, my drivers side wheels were on a curb about 3-4inches higher than the passenger side, that 3-4 inches managed to save the fuse box, car was running while water was inside & took a good 20 minutes submerged to cut out, one of the exhausts was poking out also, was burbling the water. The passenger door wouldn't open because i couldn't physically open it against the water. The windows did work.... But i put them down to try climb out ... Then they wouldn't go back up again i managed to stand ontop of my engine and pull the induction kit off and jam a plastic bag into the throttle body with some electrician tap.... Kinda worked. Waited on top of my car for about 2 hours at -5'c for a fire engine to come save me lol
=( That's harsh Jonty, I'd heard Kendal had got it bad. Hopefully it can be saved but like the other guys said, it'll probably be a write off. Let us know the outcome mate.
