Im on a roll here got an hour before the next car so thought I would do a writeup for an M3 I detailed. This was in for an enhancement detail, so good correction but anything heavier is left. Shows how well a colour like this can come up. So the befores straight back from a journey to Hull and back: Car was citrus pre washed, rinsed, washed using the two bucket method, then sprayed with tardis and then car chem revolt or the iron side of things: Rolled inside then clayed: Then dried off and paint depth measurements taken: Then masked up: Onto the correction, due to this being an enhancement which is a single pass I spend sometime getting the correct pad and polish so the customer gets good levels of correction and finish.
Onto the wheels and arches, I certainly made this M3 much faster with the dirt and mud removal fromn the rear arches, would liked to of spent more time on the arches but time was limited on this job:
Centre cap aligned and coated: The remenants of the arches quarter filled the hoover: Paint was then panel wiped: Checked with a light: Then coated: Leaving: Onto the engine bay:
Onto the exhausts: Trims coated with kamikaze: Interior was cleaned then coated with Gtechniq: Leather with gliptone: Few other bits cleaned: Then wheels torqued up to the correct setting: Onto the final pictures:
Dang looks awesome. How would you advise to wash this next time around? I always assumed waxing a car meant that you could simply jet wash off the crud but it still sticks so a hand wash is required. But this introduces scratches and swirls again. It's a viscous circle
Citrus pre wash applied then rinsed takes most of the dirt off the coatings, then washed with the two bucket method rinsed and dried. The coatings are tougher than a wax and can shrug off light wash marking, they bead and sheet water very well and are very durable in comparison.
my cars have that coating and bearing in mind how much they are used, the coating is still performing very well.
For a car of this caliber it hadn't been looked after very well had it?! The engine bay and arches were a right state! But well done on the detail, looks great now
