Powerflex black all 3, piece of cake mate. Did them, fitted the short shift and changed the oil in just over an hour lol
Got my car back after having the front offside hub and both track rod ends replaced, feel very different and drives in a straight line plus when you boot it the car go where you point it not either straight on or into the next lane Though wallets lighter now
Oh yeh, big thuds. Though a friend has a 265 of similar age and even higher mileage but no problems with his, only different is mine remapped but I struggle to see what difference that could have to the ball joints.
I think its just luck of the draw tbh, Mine went around 40k IIRC and i know of some that have went way before that and some that are way past that and still on the original joints.
Hmm ok thanks, i've got a knocking from the front nearside over bumps. Bit of a shame since the car has only done 16k
You have the choice of getting just the ball joint replaced (about £70 off ebay) or the whole hub carrier +ball joint as it's pressed in for about £130. Then the labour for removing/refitting. I had the whole carrier done just because by the time I drive somewhere to get it done it'd cost me more in fuel and then I have a proper dealers warranty against the work done for 12 months, I now have a spare offside one just with the knackered ball joint in it and it's well and truly gone. I got all the parts back and the ball joint is properly wrecked while the track rod ends are 'serviecable' but very rough despite the boots being intact. To be honest though, it's made quite a remarkable difference. I presume as they're the kind of things that wear and don't just suddenly brake I hadn't noticed too much but I've gained back a much more accurate front end and no more crazy torque steer that it seemed to have caused.
Got it filthy dirty going to the Wirral in heavy rain and watching a lunatic in a Merc' CDI constantly overtaking aggressively at warp speed in virtually blind conditions, accident looking for a place to happen !
Fitted my new Bonnet Struts and got some leaves out of my interior fan - love the bonnet struts, great mod!
Booked it in with K-tec for a service and to sort out the annoying airbag light that comes on and off all the time !
lol - Phil fitted them for me mate! I was polishing one of the mechanics cars. He thought they were good too - the bonnet opens a bit higher now which is nice and no chance of it blowing off the little arm thing now when at shows etc
Squeaky recaro fixed, alloy refurbed (trophy alloy with red lip) and bought a panel filter for next month's trip to RStuning.
I got some new Samco Hoses today! managed to find myself a new Samco contact so Im pleased! if anyone needs any send me a pm and ill get you a price!
Changed my interior bulbs to the LED ones, polished and waxed the car. Nothing massively interesting. Spent more time getting the GT-R ready for Silverstone.
Fitted D1S Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited bulbs. Can now see at night. Checked steering and front suspension for play.
All day claying polishing and waxing the other side of it that I ran out of time/daylight on last week. She looks immaculate now
First off Lewis get some pics up mate would love to see more of it! Ive washed clayed polished and two layers of FK. It now looks mega and the beading is crazy!!!
Here we go dude: Renaultsport Megane 275 Trophy http://www.rsmegane.com/showthread.php?t=9436 Gutted though, got a goddamn stone chip on my windscreen this morning on the way to work, right in the line of sight too
MOT'd it, passed with no advisories which I knew it would and is great. This is always a dangerous time for any of my cars as this is always the time I randomly decide to sell lol
Got it back from Mark Black, after having: R.26R clutch and flywheel plus a slave cylinder Service (now had 3 in the last 8k miles lol) 2 Michelin PSS on the front Brembo HC discs and Brembo pads on the front Osram nightbreaker unlimited headlight bulbs plus Cree LED sidelights Window reg replaced Interior rattles sorted - one of which was the passenger seat that Mark had to take out, half take apart and keep shaking it until 24p in change fell out haha. Also got a really good condition centre console with armrest to fit, plus a new leather armrest cover and handbrake handle cover. Then I'm going to advertise it for sale!
And today I did the exterior of the car. Wash, glaze and wax. Cleaned tires and rubber parts. STEEV's in wax.
Had a new track rod end, new cv boot, new gearbox oil, new door latch and then an MOT, which had no advisories! Now to get the little car park ding pulled out and think about selling up to start hunting for a new car!
Changed the oil for some factory full stuff. New fuel filter and air filter. All OE parts. Changed front ARB drop links.
