  1. Still raining here ! So much for fitting them today :worried:

  2. Going to have a blast fitting mine in work Tomo all being well.

  3. Rain stopped !!! Job done

Thanks Matt... just the ticket... Could have done with another pair of hands to lift the bonnet slightly higher than the OEM stay to get the bolt on the drivers side one in (bonnet end of strut), but other than that simples..

  4. You say simples, wait til I give it a go lol

  5. Lol.... hardest / most fiddly bit mate is the getting the sticker templates in the right place both sides and getting the drill started... shaky hads dont help

Drilling the holes will be easier if you start off with a smaller drill bit, say a 2 or 3mm just to get the hole started and then move to the 6mm... Even with a new drill but I had a bit of "slip"..

Do the drivers side 1st then you can at least have the bonnet propped up with the standard bonnet support while you're drilling the 1st hole.. then you'll need someone to lift the bonnet slightly higher up to get the top bolt in on the first strut top (or lean into it with your head  ).. get the drivers one in then the bonnet is held up nicely with that one while you drill the passenger side...

  6. cheers matey

  7. Fitted thank you. Had to bend the bonnet stay bracket out of the way but other than that dead easy.

    Fitted mine today,
may i suggest a couple of modifications when fitting, when you drill the hinges drill and tap them for 6mm, this way you can leave the ram loose but the bolt tight and the supplied nut locked on the back, also get some small tubing and cut off small bits and put over the bolts, when inserted into the ram ends to stop them rattling.

Why do you need 4? Where do the other 2 go?

In the lower ends, both ends are the same size, found mine rattled, 6mm bolts in 8-9mm holes.

  23. Hi Ian, can I ask a stupid question... What do you mean by 'tap to 6mm'. Also where did you get the plastic tubing from? Thanks

To tap means to create a thread - so you would drill a 5.5mm hole then use a tap (like a corkscrew but with a thread on the end) to create a thread inside the hole taking it up to 6mm so a bolt can screw into it rather than just sitting inside loose

  25. Thank you

    Hi mate
No question is stupid if you don't know the answer.

I had the tubing in my workshop, can't exactly remember where i got it from, but i am sure either some screen wash pipe, fish tank air pipe or something along those lines will work.

  27. Brilliant thank you
