Hi boys, is it possible to use alignment shim on the rear of an r26. I have a bent rear and can not find a second hand rear beam and need a 0.6 degree to get it in tolerance. Anyone with any knowledge about this?
No you can't but seriously, is it only 0,6 degrees out? many original, not bent, axles have more than that!
Yes it is 0.6 out of tolerance. I can't remember know whts the tolerance, i think it is 1.5 to 1 negative camber. My left side 1.2 right side 0.4. I get the squeaking sound when braking and it is quite visibleisfrom behind
Hi guys sorry to hijack the thread but do you know what the standard values are for the rear suspension toe camber etc including tolerances if possible? Or point me in the right direction? As my car got hit in the rear wheel so just want to check all is ok. Thanks in advance!
Have you tried K-Tec I saw a couple of cars n their pound which were scrapped for parts? Or RenParts maybe??
They arnt available. The stub is welded onto the axel so no way of adding a shim. The only thing i could think is out is the mounting points as they have some slight adjustment to the subframe
And if you go to the 225 beam, then you can buy one from any Meganes available. The 225 uses the non-Sport version of the beam. The R26 has some extra welding points which I think you can even replicate as long as you have yours to see them. S.
Has someone done this before? It could be done but i don't have the know how and don't know who to approach whit this
I have a phase 2 rear beam on mine but no ARB, truth be told I didn't even realise the 26 had a ARB Even a ph2 rear beam in 225 form is an upgrade from the ph1 225 beam though, lighter and shaped better for airflow underneath. Can the ARB be fitted to a ph2 rear beam guys? Not sure if it's been stated above.
Does a 197/200 beam fit ? Just a daft thought seeing as they share a lot of parts...rear beam bushes are the same along with brake callipers, discs etc. (Megane Ph2 onwards)
Is it not possible to get a workshop to heat and bend the beam the small amount needed to correct the alignment? I have heard a few times in the past of race prep outfits doing this sort of thing on cars with torsion beam or beam axle rear suspension. Means of course having to strip the thing off the car down to just the beam and a workshop used to doing basic re-engineering of components.
I have added ARB on my 225 F1.You can buy the ARB with center bush from renault. You just have to made some bracket to fit it.You can feel the extra stiffnes from the rear.
Yes from Renault. ARB (rear) 8200 063 891 Clamp for the bush 7701 663 888 Bush 7701 063 891 There is only one bush for the ARB ( in the midle ).
