  1. Hi guys, came to open the bonnet the other to top fluids up. But i pulled the handle and nothing happened. I have tried to pry out the front grilles but there in tight. Anyone else recommend something or had the same issue?? Need to top up the oil soon as well as i have a 400 mile round trip Friday.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Hey Dan, when this happened to me i found it easist first of all to go in from underneath, reach up with a long bar and flick the bonnet catch over.
When it happened the second time i no longer had access from underneath due to adding various bits and had to go in through the grill, i did snap one clip on the grill but it still sits in firmly (havent lost it in 6 months yet!)
After you get it open it will be the ball / hook in the little plastic box slightly near the passenger side, i squeezed it tight with pliers and added epoxy to hold it for the future.

  3. When i pull the grilles im worried it damages the bumper as I pull it out. Such a stupid little issue.

  4. this just happened to me. These cars truly are shite!!!!

  5. Which model are you rocking? I've had no issues with the 250 cup like

  6. You can get the front grilles (where the bonnet catch is) easily. Using a plastic panel removal tool, or a thin piece of plastic, prise up the bottom of the grill and pull it forward. Should come easy and then you can access the bonnet catch

  7. I managed to get my hand through the left hand side grille. It came out with a flat head wrapped in a micro fibre. I just had to keep pushing my hand back till I could pull the cable through the gap. The useless garage hadn't put it back together in the little black connector box. Again anyone from newcastle, shields area stay clear of Gary Tuck.

  8. i had the same problem, a month ago so thought would post pictures so people can check theres and make a small improvement so save yourself grief. for some reason in renaults wisdom they didn't connect cable in one piece.

this little black box has a ball and knuckle joint to release the bonnet catch by the battery.

used some cable ties and a drill to make a couple of holes to keep the little box together

  9. thats what I will be doing to mine once I get the bonnet open. Got the grills out and can get hand through and feel a spring but no idea how I am supposed to get the bonnet open

  10. if its the same as this problem which i guess it will be. on the right hand grill, u have to feel about half way between the bonnet release catch and battery and feel for the plastic cable with the little metal c on the end. then pull the c with pliers and that should do it

  11. cheers pal Ive felt the wire but didnt want to pull it too hard will try and feed it through tonight

  12. what did you do with the bonet catch ive fidled everywhere and cant get the bonnet open

  13. Okay so for this, I have a definite way if getting this done. Pull out the passenget side top grille piece. Using a screw driver wrapped in a microfiber start from the bottom and work it out. Once this is out put your hand through and into the hole that sits near the bonnet latch. You should then feel to the right, once you have the cable pull it back through the hole. Then pull to the right. The bonnet will then pop up. It will be the connector on the front of passenger side of the bonnet. It has a cable and ball set up that has a plastic casing. Stick this all back together. Then cable tie the shit out of it. Put all back together and your done.

  14. exactly
