My car hesitates when cold, when it comes on boost, Im talking literally the first 3 or 4 times I put my foot down, after that it's fine, is this normal for a modified turbo car? When I say put my foot down, obviously I dont mean hammering it, just pulling away slowly.
Excellent! I didn't think it was going to be a problem, but thought I'd better check, just to put my mind at rest
i do try mate, I'm talking changing gear asasp, but sometimes it happens as I'm pulling out onto a very busy A road, so need to be sharpish. I'm still only talking 2/3k revs
Ah , in that case its something else. If you mash the throttle ( or sometimes even 50% ) it will hesitate , pop , bang and go into a staccato sound. Lift , wait and re apply and it sorts itself.
never had that happen lol, just when the turbos coming in at low revs, like I said its only the 1st 3 or 4 times when it's cold, after that it's fine, might get it in at rs tuning, see what they think.
Just to update this, thought I'd book it in with rs tuning just to be safe, so rang them up, and he told me not to worry it's normal! Nice to hear confirmation off the pro's.
ha ha well as its getting colder the cars doing it more, it's like a fucking kangaroo at times, so it's been on my mind again, and thought I'd better get it checked lol bang on that.
This answers a question for me as well but I only notice it for about 20 seconds of driving and then all is fine.
