Megane 225 Trophy No. 198

  1. Thought I'd start a thread for my latest Meg.

After selling my mint inferno 225 Cup due to moving into my first house I instantly wanted another. After looking for a few weeks I seen this Trophy for sale in Manchester with fsh and looked in good condition but the biggest pull was it was only on 54k miles.

8 hour round trip from Edinburgh to Manchester and back I was the proud owner of 225 Trophy no. 198.

Couple of crappy pics of when I first got it. a66b4abe24365f19461c6bb49cbc1fbb.jpg

Since those pics were taken it's had all the belts & waterpump changed, new swivel hub bearings, SMF & r clutch along with a few other maintenance bits and pieces so it's running spot on right now.

Spent a few hours yesterday giving it a clean and took a couple of photos not the greatest as I'm no photographer.

  2. Inferno

Hi I'm now the new owner of your old inferno

  3. Looks lovely Stevo and I'm sure you will look after this one too

  4. looks great mate. I have one too.

How much different is it now to when you first bought it driving wise? Has all that work really paid off?

Sometimes part of me wants to put the ph1 rear clusters back on!

I do like the ph2 ones though, the only external mod allowed on a trophy!

  6. Yup! I hope you look after it lol.

  7. It drives a load better than when I bought it.

I've changed the track rods & ends, rack bush, drop link & anti twist link too along with 4 new vredstein ultrac vorti tyres.

    So yeah drives brilliant.

  8. Very nice Steve. Any plans?

  9. None at all mate.

Keeping it totally standard and maintained well.

I done all the Megane mods on my last 225 Cup and it cost me an arm & a leg so I'm giving all that a wide berth.

  10. Not even a cheeky stage one so to speak

  11. Nope nothing at all lol.

The other half drives this Megane with the little girl in it everyday so I don't want to start playing about with it.

Makes you appreciate how good these cars are in standard form too.

  12. My R26 was very capable in standard form, did me first track day in it standard apart for Ds1.11 pads

  13. Excellent cars out the box.

I can understand why folk would want to play about with them but I'm just not bothered by it anymore.

To be fair the only thing I've done bar the remap is a short shift and the clio steering wheel. I don't intend for it to go much beyond that - certainly not dicking with suspension or engine mounts etc..
