Hi all still problems with my car not starting think it's definitely the battery so going to try one but which is the best one for our cars;rang my local motor factors and they have a platinum one at £75 with 3 year guarantee but never heard of them thanks all
I think they might have meant the Bosch Platinum battery, they are usually around that price from EuroCarParts..
Cheers I'll have a look tomorrow can only walk to the local one  If not I'll just jump it are batteries different sizes or all same ;don't know nothing about car batteries just that it will be it's second in its life so lasted 5 and half years so can't grumble
I believe most car batteries are roughly the same size (dimension) on modern cars, but they do come in different capacities measured in Ah (Amp hours). Don't ask me the capacity of the standard Renault battery though, and I am not sure it matters if you go a bit bigger in capacity but you definitely don't want to go lower or the battery life will be shortened (if the car starts). To be honest, 5.5 years isn't all that long. Mine is going on 7 years and is only just starting to fail although I am putting that down to the car sitting most of the week doing nothing. Car batteries are damaged when their charge drops significantly hence why people fit trickle chargers to cars that sit unused for long periods of time
My car gets used to take her to work and back and that's all 3 times a week about 3 miles it'll be down to that My driving has changed hardly use the car now Had a quick look at the battery is it a straight forward swap on the 250 does anyone know
Good good thanks guys going for one of these I think http://www.eurocarparts.com/car-battery Duracell or the Bosch s5 I think
Batteries come in different sizes and capacities.. as long as the capacity of the new one is at least what the old one was, you should be fine..
All done running like a dream again cleaned it too and feels a different car ;crazy what a bit of tlc can do
