So I've been in contact with a member on here to get my shifter made into a short shifter (I sent it to him) he received it fine sent me pics of it turning up and of it done.. He said he sent it out last Friday first class so should be here Saturday worst case Monday.. Well both them days have been and gone and it's now Wednesday and still no sign.. I've contacted him and he said he'd send me a pic of the receipt proof of sending but I've never got one. Now I haven't heard from him and his phone just goes straight to answerphone but still active on here. I don't really want to post this but I just want it back so I can get the car back together and don't see any other way.
Whenever I send something I always send the buyer proof of post. If he's a good member on here I'm sure you will be able to sort something out.
He said he would and I suppose he could be busy and forgot which is totally understandable. But the fact I can't get hold of him is slightly worrying and got me thinking the worst. Oh and he's a good genuine member by the looks of things which is why I went to him.
If you are talking about Boardy ( Lee) then youre talking about one of the most genuine and helpful people I have ever met so I can assure you that you are not being ripped off etc and if he says he has sent it he has.
I didn't want to post names, but this seemed the only way to get hold hold of him, the fact I can't get hold of him via phone and he hasn't replied to my text there's probably a valid reason but I'm new to the forum. I couldn't agree more with being helpful but it hasn't helped with no proof, I just want to know what's going on and worst case if it has been lost I'd like to follow it up.
He works funny hours. I really cant see him being the type to run off with a small amount of cash. There will be a genuine reason.
The money doesn't bother me, it's the part where I get home from work thinking I might get to fit it and put the car back together but then it's not there.
I sent him a text yesterday afternoon but got no reply, but he was online later that night, I pmd him today but he's not been online yet.
How did you pay him for the shifter? PayPal? Open a dispute. I sold over £10,000 worth of megane parts on the forums last year not one person had any issues with me, a few things went missing in the post but I cut my losses and refunded buyers straight away. No excuse if you ask me just cause he might work funny hours has nothing to do with the customer does it. I'd be fuming if it was me.
I did via pay pal although I sent it as a friend.. I haven't bought one from him, I took my one off my car and sent it to him to get modded
Boardy sent me a short shifter as well and it took a few days longer to show up than expected. He had posted it on the day he said he had though so maybe it's a shit post office/sorting office! He's been very helpful to me as well, even providing a real time help line when I fitted it whilst he was on a family holiday and them again when I was struggling with an engine mount. All round top man! In the 0% chance you end up being out of pocket I'll pay you the money myself!
Well yes, yes it does. If he works 12h days starting at 0800 then he wont be able to get to the post office. I also note you have two posts on here , so I would wait a little before offering advice on how to trade on here.
I think you're being quite harsh, It's highly likely it's Royal Snail doing there usual sterling job and although I appreciate you don't have a working car without it that's the chance you take, if it's lost in the post then what are you going to do? To accuse someone quite publicly of doing something without an answer privately first is unfair, especially when he's doing forum members a favor - he's quite within his right to just chop it in and that would be a shame.
To be fair, he didn't actually name him so not really publicly accusing. 1st class can take easily 3-4 days for parcels, 2nd class nearer 5-7 on some stuff i've sent. 1st class is very very rarely next day delivery in my experience, thats what special delivery is for.
If you don't have time to post things or communicate with your buyer you don't take people's money simple as that , well that's how I see it . Oh and I've probably traded privately more than anybody on here just under different profiles
and the lad in question is a top communicator so something must have happened as I said earlier he drops everthing to help you either over the phone or to go to his house so he will not be ripping you off. He also doesn't do it as a business to those who are suggesting he shouldn't offer the service. Its more a favour to the people on here who want it doing so I wouldn't panic it will arrive and your money will be safe and I agree with the lad who said he would refund you himself

I didn't name him so wasn't being harsh exactly.. My cars in pieces waiting to be put together, luckily I don't use the car and it's not insured yet but I'd still like to get it back together. What else am I meant to do? He's phones just goes straight to answer phone and he's not replying to any messages. It's instinct to think the worst. All I want is the shifter.
If you are talking about Lee I can guarantee you he's not a thief... In fact probably one of the best people iv met from a forum. I know this doesn't help with your problem but at least it rules one possibility out
Gents just for the record, it was myself that Paul was talking about, I had sent him a short shift that has gone walkies in the post. And I had gone off radar for a few days due to issues at home and stupid hours at work. Myself and Paul have sorted the problem and another short shift has been made for him. Most have you have had dealings with me in some form or another be it group buys or short shifts and I hope you would know I would not rip anyone off! Lee I think I speak for most if not all of us on here, never thought for one minute that you would do a runner for £60, although you had been a bit quite on here and that there must be a reason for that. Welcome back
Thanks mate! It was not even 60 quid as I was modding his linkage for him which was one of the reasons for the panic on Paul's part. Yeah had a stressful few weeks to say the least, work has been stupid and the wife managed to throw herself down the stairs and damage her back, she's ok ish just can't do much, but with a 19 month old to deal with too it's been hard!
Right time to clear this up, I have been in contact with Lee and he explained what went on with very understandable reasons (I felt like an idiot) but even with everything going on Lee still made the time to make me another one and send it out, it arrived yesterday and it's all fitted and back together and I have to say what a mod it is! It's a very good mod and I'm very greatful of Lee, I know it was abit out of line putting up this thread but I did panic as such as I had no linkage so couldn't move the car and no contact with Lee. Anyone looking to do the short shifter mod or have any dealings with Lee.. Pay NO attention to this thread Lee has proved he's a top member.

just for the record..this will happen a lot...we had several linkages go missing in the uk post....never had a single problem with international post all over the world!!..
