  1. Hey guys looking some advice

Got my clutch and flywheel replaced last week everything was perfect car running like a dream however got in it yesterday and put the card in and hit start the engine cranks but doesn't come to like after 3/4 attempts the car come to live and runs like a dream same thing happened again today. Is there anything this could be could the mechanic have accidentally knocked something off or has something came loose.

    Thanks

  3. could this have been damaged or came loose?

    cheers

  4. Probably this. A new one is £40 & it's one m6 bolt & a plug to change it.

  5. is this a do it urself job or better to throw it back to the mechanic?

  6. It's an easy DIY job. The sensor is at the front/ bottom of the gearbox bell housing.

  8. Disaster..... Car wouldn't start at all tonight leaving work and I'm afraid of draining the battery is there anyway around this just to get it started tonight to get home seems like tomorrow isn't soon enough

    Please help :worried:

  9. Would think you're gonna have to leave it mate.. wont start with dodgy sensor..

Can you see if its loose ?

  10. Yeah jacked it up and was able to feel it didn't seem
    Loose.

Gutted mechanic said to leave it for a bit let the sensor cool down and give it a go after that sound in anyway right?

  11. Cant comment on that mate... gotta be worth a try I guess ! Cable connected to it ok ?

  12. Just checked the actual sensor as the mechanic had a look at it yesterday so knew where it was is the wire accessible under there as well or from the top (bonnet open)

Sorry to be a pain drew appreciate it

  13. Looking at pics of one, should be a connector - if you follow the wires up from the sensor, clip together connector.. some suggesting removal and re-seating assuming you still got it in the air and have tools with you....

  14. Cheers mate heading back down to it with a bigger jack I'll have a quick look.

    Thanks

  15. Good luck bud !

  16. Had given up all hope and was ready to leave her for then night then boom fired into life lol

Safely home and ready for mechanic appointment tomorrow

    Cheers again drew

  18. Hey bud.
Seems I might have the same problem.did everything switch on in the car except that it didn't start before you changed the sensor and what did your dash read when you tried to start

  19. Everything comes on in my car but it just won't start and then it reads STEERING LOCKED a while after I press the button and when I remove it it says STEERING NOT LOCKED, I'm very confused and stressed out wana sell this car the moment it starts:thumbdown::blush:
