250 Problems with Wipers

Discussion in 'Exterior & Bodywork' started by TEV250, Sep 28, 2015.

  1. Hello All,

So basically when I bought the car, the wipers were at the end of their life on the front.

I decided to replace them with the Michelin Stealth wipers and since then, they have been the loudest most awful wipers ever.

I think it may be an issue with the drivers side wiper arm. It doesn't look like the arm sits at the same angle as the glass and is slightly tilted toward the glass meaning the blade is slightly angled when it touches the windscreen if that makes sense. The housing of the blade is very close to the glass on one side which makes me think the arm may be bent ?

Has anyone else found the 250 wipers to be noisy when moving in the first intial movement and jumpy ? I use rain-x and my windscreen is clean.

It makes noise when they first move and then when coming back. Just seems like a very old cars wipers and not a smooth motion..

Random post but annoying considering how much rain we have. What wipers does everyone use as I know these Michelins aren't technically aero wipers.

    Thanks,

Bin the Stealth wipers, I had them for a month or so. Proper shite things and just don't work well on the Mk3 Megane screen

  3. It's funny how things can vary from car to car, had the Stealth on mine for over a year and they have been great, not had any problems at all.

  4. Yeah its really strange, they are absolute rubbish ! They clean well but its almost like the rubber is really hard. The drivers side has scratched the screen a bit..

  5. Iv always used bosch aero twin 's. Not on the megane at but I will be purchasing some soon before the rubbish weather starts. You Can get a full set for £17 on ebay. Or about £40 in halfords lol

I've had wiper issues ever since I had a new windscreen!

Had 3 sets of premiums brands and they all squeal like pigs.

  7. I use the Bosch w/blades and have no problems with them on my 250.

  8. My windscreen is ridiculously scratched.. God knows what the previous owner was doing to it.... Seriously thinking about claiming the windscreen cover, at night it's absolutely murder with the lights shining on it.

  9. Anyone know the cheapest place to get the Bosch aerotwin wipers ?

  10. Get the Bosch...but also apply some gtechniq G1. Had this on the car for 3 and half years now and it's on the girlfriends car. I barely use my wipers! And at night on a quiet Mway I never use them regardless how bad the rain is, in fact the harder the rain the better it performs.

Superb stuff and it's only £11 delivered.

  11. Yeah Ive always used Rain-X but a mate of mine uses gtechniq G1 and its really awesome. I will buy some !

    Cheers

  12. I found rain X is effective all time you're on the move but not effective in traffic also not wiper friendly, the rubber and product seem at odds with each other, best wipers ever had were PIAA silicone and forget the rain x.

  13. G1 is fantastic. I've been using it on the Megane for about 4 years and it makes a huge difference. I do one application on the sides and back and then 3 layers on the front. Tends to last just over a year before a top-up is due.

The other gtechniq stuff is excellent too.

  14. +1
