Hi guys, had my Megane almost 2 years now but only recently found out about this forum so thought I'd say hi.. Just recently had it stage 1 remapped and couldnt be happier with it it now feels like a completely different car!
At some point I'll be bothered to go up to Leeds to do this but from Surrey its a trek. That said, 250bhp seems pretty rapid!
300bhp feels savage, but it's more the way it pulls to the limiter hard that is really noticable. I always found it felt like it was starving of air over 5k rpm. Now it's difficult not to hit the limiter, though the extra torque means you're better off short shifting anyway sometimes.
I keep toying with the re-map aswell, just a bit nervous with the extra strain on the gearbox /mounts as I have the 2010 Megane which I believe is the model that is more susceptible to breaking the under speced bolts, don't know if I'm worrying over nothing,,,, BTW,welcome Hutch.91
I've always been a bit worried about getting it done too but finally bit the bullet. The guys up at Leeds are brilliant running at 300bhp now. Like twig said it's the torque that's the big difference even spins going into 3rd in the dry if your really going for it.
