  1. This may of been covered before but il just post a couple of pics up to show you that a panel filter from the 225/230/dci 175 will 100% fit in the mk3 airbox perfectly.

My old dci BMC panel filter vs 265 standard paper filter

As you can see the only difference is depth. I fitted this today to the 265 just because i had it lying round, i expect zero gains from this even when mapped. The paper filter seems pretty good on the 265

  2. The Part number 82 00 885 185 is correct for an RS filter which is really a lightly fluffy cotton gauze so more Hi performance than std paper.
So the Whiter one in the pictures is best. [Standing on my head I can see the part number is correct.]
Not sure about the dark red edged dirty grey one.

Is that the answer you wanted?

  3. I wasn't looking for an answer I've just seen many people in the past ask if a mk2 aftermarket filter will fit in the mk3 airbox . The answer is yes they fit perfectly.

Regarding my old filter it's a bmc performance panel filter which is 2 years old removed from my dci 175. It has since been cleaned, re oiled and fitted to my 265.

Performance Panel filters imo never give any bhp over the standard items. The only benefit is they last much longer.
