Couldn't see a thread about this. Let's see what cars you have owned in the past. My first car: 1.2 Clio Dynamique My second car: Clio R27 (I have never been more excited about seeing a car for the first time) My third car: Sadly penalty points saw to the end of my love in with my clio. Replaced by a Polo GT 1.9 tdi My fourth car: Safe to say i got bored of the Polo very quickly. Just couldn't click with it and changed after 6 months of ownership. Changed to a Clio Trophy. I utterly adored this car. Took it to Mark Fish Motorsport to upgrade the suspension. My fifth car: Again sadly had to say goodbye to a car i didn't want to. I still had 9 points on my license, and quit my car sales job due to a massive argument with my manager at the time. Insurance and car costs with my new job with much lower wages meant i bought a Fiesta Zetec S. My sixth car: The Fiesta was a good wee car, but i was itching to get into something quicker again. Changed to a Mini Cooper S My seventh car: I had endless problems with the Mini and again sold the car just over 6 months worth of ownership. After around 3 months of owning the Mini, one of the pistons exploded due to a faulty fuel injector. Had a 2 month dispute with the dealership, in which they paid for the majority of a 6k repair bill. After i got it back i still didn't feel like i could trust the car, and away she went. Replaced by a Megane Coupe 1.6 Dynamique. I have to admit it has been a brilliant car, no problems at all, very well equipped and looks great. I wasn't in the market for changing car, however it's not every day you find a LY R26 that ticks all the boxes.
It will take me ages to list me cars Last 5 Porsche 911 993 C4 Porsche 911 993 C2 Porsche 911 996 GT3 Porsche Cayman S Megane R26.R - Current These have been toys, as I always have had a company car.
Fiat punto 1.2 8v (yes, 8v, 60bhp, was horrid!) fiat punto 1.4 16v sporting (ind, exh, map, 125bhp, really quick!) clio 182 LY meg R26, best car ever, couldnt see me ever selling it ...awaiting delivery of a 265!
Mk3 Golf - First car, gearbox exploded on the way home after picking it up! Peugeot 306 D Turbo. Peugeot 306 Gti 6, great car. Would still have it but it started to turn into a money pit with one problem after another. So, got rid of that and bought my current car, black R26. Best car I've owned.
Last 6 cars Renault 21 turbo (1995-1996) Ford XR3i cab with rattlesnake body kit!! (1997-2000) Renault Clio 16v (2000-2001) VW Golf V6 4 motion (2001-2004) Clio 182 with both cup packs (2004-2010) Megane R26 (current since 2010) VW was so smooth but not for me. Most scary 21 turbo, massive torque steer. Best car for track 182 as only weighed 1100kgs. Slowest car XR3I but had the itch for a cab. Fastest car R26, can carry more speed than the Clio on track but do notice the extra 300 kgs.
Red Mk2 golf 1.3 silver corsa B 1.2sxi black mk3 Astra gsi black mk3 clio 1.2 dynamique (this was due to getting a ban and also the beginning of my renault addiction) black mk3 clio 2.0 dynamique s white mk3 clio face lift GT 1.5 dci blue mk3 clio 200 Gordini currently waiting for my GW 265 cup to arrive
My first car was a 1.1 saxo. Then got a focus mp3, the mp3 got smashed by a drunk driver then I got an xr3i escort cabby then on to a 88 escort rs turbo which I had 3 months, and got a weeks use out of it lol! Then I got a mondeo st24, then a rover 820 vitesse, ugly car but it shocked a lot of cars! I then the to a golf gti turbo, a Volvo s80 for a month or so, then got a MGZT and now the meg!
My first car was a 2.0 Megane coupe in yellow, the MK1 150hp model. My love of Meganes started there, sadly it was written off after a few months (not my fault). After that: Citroen AX GTI Calibra 2.0 Peugeot 406 2.0 Coupe Mitsubishi GTO, TT model Vectra SRI 140 Megane 225 5dr Jaguar X Type estate (why!) Megane R26 which I have currently, and can't see past anything other than a 250/265 when I change in 2 years. I can understand the stereotype of unreliable French cars though, whilst the Renaults I've owned have been superb the Citroen and Peugeot were total garbage that constantly developed electrical faults.
Had a mk1 punto 8v (60bhp) loved it. Was bulletproof Bought a seat Leon Cupra r 225 which was good but too sluggish Currently got a 225 meg which it absolutely love but I have test driven a 265 which I think is my next step. Need another year or two saving first. Got to say the interiors are horrid in French cars but there's something about them. I love mine
Had a mk2 punto 8v (60bhp) for 5 years then got a phase 1 225 in 5 door. That was a fun step up! Currently got a phase 2 225.
not all but some of my faves Mondeo 2.5V6 Ghia X, SVT Manifolds SVT TB Blitz induction Powerflow Straight Through 198.9 Bhp BMW M3 3.0 std loved it Volvo S70R Rica Remap this thing was an animal!
had a few cars condisering im only 22 saxo 1.4 furio Fiesta zetec s 2007 Clio 197 F1 2007 Clio 182 2004 Audi TT mk2 3.2 v6 2007 (lovely car shouldn't of sold it) Megane R26 2008 and Clio 182 RB 2005
i started off with a mini which a absolutely loved and spent alot of time and money on it then i went on to one of my favorute hot hatches off the late 80's early 90's 205 gti (loved that car) this car started my love of the french way of thinking! now i went to the dark side for a year but i must say it was a beast remapped to 260bhp didnt half go but handling not so good! audi s3 then went back to the french with probably one of my favourite cars clio 182 FF anf now i drive a ly r26 which is awesome especially after a stage 1
Citroën ZX Advantage 1.9D - Technically mums car, but considering I wrote it off, repaired it myself with a new bonnet and then smashed the cv joint on it, I consider it mine! 106 xnd 1.5D - my first car really. Bought after spending all summer working every hour god gave me to afford the insurance etc. Brilliant car. Slow as he'll but taught me more about driving than any car since...! 306 Dturbo 1.9td -first proper project car. Loved it. Lowered it, upgraded the brakes, straight through exhaust, took the fuel pump apart and swapped bigger bits in from a Ford transit fuel pump. Made about 150hp bit went through 8 turbos in its time with me! Taught me a lot about working on cars! 306 gti6 2.0 16v - the first one. In diablo red. Started my love affair with petrol, and kicked off my obsession with handling modifications! I took it off the road after driving it as a daily for a year to modify the suspension. Spent a fortune on it then wrote it off after a lock up in the wet pottering it to work one morning. 306 gti6 #2! - in astor grey this time. Spent a similarly silly amount on suspension for it. Polybushed, adjustable camber and caster top mounts, group n engine mounts, 421 exhaust manifold, etc etc, buckets, 4ppint harnesses etc. It was an amazing car to drive hard but became very tedious as a daily, particularly over winter. So I put it back to near oem and sold it. Biggest regret was not tsking it on track before selling up. The guy I sold it to took me out in it at fcs at Combe, and it was unbelievable. 2008 Ly R26: current steed. Loving it! Faster and more capable than the gti6, and also more refined with it. With more toys. Basically exactly what I wanted in a car
Toyota avensis 2.0 vvti estate. Exploded the head gasket spectacularly! Cost £2k to repair and chopped it in for the Meg. Haven't looked back since!
First up for me was the valver! Terrible pictures as I lost all the good ones on a fudged hard drive Then the Williams - God I loved that car, it also loved my wallet A LOT! Then it's replacement as I needed something for the Mrs to drive (she wouldn't drive the Willy as she knew I'd kill her if she hurt it!) I regret it now... And a couple of the Trophy! Probably my fave alongside the Williams.. You can see the wife's Corsa in the last one - it's (obviously as it lives with me!) a minter but I wish she would let me buy something newer!
First car was a Corsa 1.2 sxi in Black. Loved it was always washing and polishing it but once I got rid of it I swore I would never have another black car . Second car was my red 197, got it in 2006 just after launch and done a fair bit to it but I never really bonded with it. It was a Friday car if ever there was one and I swore I'd never buy another new car just after release. How it ended up; After about 18 months the 197 Cup was released and its back to basic approach really appealed to me. As much as I thought the keyless entry, climate control, anti dazzle mirrors etc. were cool I wouldnt miss them if I didnt have them. The Cup also brough the option of the Recaro's which weren't available at launch so I just had to have one. Ive only have four cars so far (personally, had much more in our fleet but thats another story lol) but the 197 Cup was my favourite of them all. I still miss it today and I should still have it just now looking back, I was really impatient and daft selling it to be honest. How it Ended up: AST Coilovers OZ Racing Ultraleggera's Either R888's or A048's whicher ever I could afford at the time they wore out. Think I went through about 8 sets of track tyres sice I had it. AP Racing bells and rotors with braided lines and mainly DS2500 pads R26.R fog light blanks Cup racer/PH2 V6 airbox Best colour, Racing Blue After about 6 months of having no car and only my works van I had to have something else, I was missing out on to much track time and was pretty bored doing passenger laps with my mate. Then my current car popped up for sale but its black  With the spec it had though I had to have it and its where Im at just now, I love it now Ive made it my own but it hardly gets used (1700 miles last year) Saying thats its still pampered with oil changes and maintenance.
First car was a 1.2 16v dynamique clio 2002. Standard when i got it so i lowered it, set of multiespoke wheels and painted the bump strips and plastics etc gloss black. Was a decent wee run around, but was full of electrical faults! After driving the 1.2 for a year, and getting onto CS.net i got into the clios, ended getting a bad example of a 172 pretty cheap at the time, needed the beltd etc done, scratches and dents sorted out and some new wheels to get rid of the 17s it was sitting on! Bought a 106 GTI for my girlfriend to use, turned out to be an absolute wreck, kept it 2 weeks then sold it. Shame cause it looked great on the outside haha Ive still got the 172 but ive recently moved onto a UR R26 LUX. Not had it on the road long enough to comment yet

Both your 197s were stunners. I remember i got the exhaust off your red one for a while as the new owner thought that a normal exhaust would sort one of the issues with it.
Cheers mate, the only thing that would sort the red 197 was the scrap yard  The exhaust was the KTR Maxogen syten with 100 cell sports cat, sounded brilliant. I think ive still got a couple of pictures of your Trophy at Knockhill on my photobucket somewhere, ill dig them out !
Mate that would be brilliant. It never solved the guys problem so it went back to the owner. So that made me buy the KTR Pro exhaust with decat for the R27. That sounded quality. Not as good as the trophy if you remember? that had a itg maxogen induction kit, with decat and mid silencer removed with a janspeed back box. It was that loud I got chucked off Bedford autodrome for breaching the decibel limit for the track lol
I have had a - Pug 106 1.1 independence - Audi A3 1.6 TDI S-Line Black edition - Audi S3 8p in sprint blue, tuned to 330bhp - Astra H VXR some mods exhaust etc - BMW 120d Coupe, tuned 200bhp 331ft lb - Megane RS250 (current and standard at the moment)
5 honda civics. 4 vauxhall corsas. 2 mk3 astra gsis ad a mk4. Saab 93 convertible fully forged. Golf gti. Escort rs turbo. Escort van. Ford ka. Pug 106 quicksilver ad 306. Calibra. 2 clios mk1 and 2. Subaru Impreza wagon. And now the megane that's not all in order I may have mist a few out
Old shape combo van in white 1.4 MG ZR Then the 1.8 160 vvc MG ZR that I was doing to turbo but got the meg instead still miss it but would have cost me a small figure with the tubby conversion and a re spray

Looking at some of these posts has made me realize i probably hang onto my cars alittle longer than average! Renault fanboy at heart so here goes: Things started off with a 1.4 Clio Si (mk2 ph1): It was my first experience of actually caring about a car and not just treating it as a means of A to B. After foolishly joining Cliosport.net it opened my eyes to the other Clio models and from then on I was hooked and knew I would have to have a Sport. This lead to my 172: Proper fun car however being the 7th? owner it swallowed alot of my funds trying to correct years of neglect by previous owners. It also introduced me to some of the local independent specialists in the area which meant I finally had a reliable place to get work done on my cars. This eventually lead to my 200 Cup: Which i absolutely loved. This was my first "new car" experience and I would still be driving it today if it wasnt for a lorry deciding to merge into my lane (at slow speeds) which ruined the whole experience for me.
1st - Renault Clio 1.2 60hp Then this happened So I bought this (worst decision of my life lol) Got rid after about a month and bought my little EP2, still love it so much! The day I bought it How it looked after a year After that I decided I wanted power, so obviously I bought myself a R33 Skyline GTS25T. It had a stage 2 turbo with around £8k worth of engine upgrades, most of which where HKS brand. Complete beast! It was sitting at 407bhp but at one stage had it at around 575bhp, but was too much for the internals. A wee cheeky video of it doing what it does best http://youtu.be/ChBI3nSWvy4 Only reason its gone is because the gearbox decided to eat itself one day when I was making some new road marks So that lead me to the RS 225 Sadly it will be going in March and will be getting another Skyline, possibly a GTR this time
What was wrong with the fiesta? I have van and its fine. Not exciting or anything but not flakey, unreliable or otherwise shit.
1) 1.4 Corsa C SXi+...... October 2010 - April 2012 Wrote it off, and at the time made sense to do this..... 2) 1.8 Corsa C SRi........ May 2012 - June 2013 3) Megane R26......... June 2013 - Present
