Itg induction kit

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Steve1, Sep 20, 2015.

  1. Can one be made the same as the K-tec one, going all the way down into the bumper, £300 seems a lot of money for a pipe and filter.

  2. Correct, comes with a new tray so ECU can also be bolted to the back of the tray, would car also need mapping again as they claim 12bhp but surely needs mapping to gain that much

  3. Tbh by the time you have a tray made and figure out what angles you need to bend and make the metal induction pipe you'd probably be less hassle just to buy the kit?
I doubt it would be a 12bhp bolt on, like you've said it would possibly gain you an extra 12bhp with a map.

  4. Would it be ok just to fit and forget the map part

  5. It's technically no different to fitting a panel filter, just gives less restriction again. I fitted Ktecs own induction kit to the 265 and it hasn't affected it (in a negative way).

  6. Steve, speak to Tim (Cayman) as he had the prototype then change some parts, he might be able to source a battery tray?
Also if fitted I would get it mapped to suit as you will have more air going in and might run lean?

I've heard it can be done without needing a battery tray, I'd prefer to keep the standard one and move it over.

  9. Trim the standard battery tray and it can be done. Personally I'd easily be able to do it for under 100. Buy a universal intercooler piping kit off eBay with a cheap cone filter. Get your bumper off and have a good few hours working it out with all the pipes in front of you, simple.

If I can fit a itg maxogen on a derv where the battery is twice the size of a r26, it should be simple.

with the battery tray you need to cut it, needs cutting where the red lines are. and also a bit of the ecu mount needs cutting but its easy to do

  15. On the above kit is there any protection against water? This looks similar to the set up on ep3's.
