Slow process of upgrading and power hunting I'd like 350bhp

  1. Hi,
I've had my 225 for a few years now and have become quite fond of the fat ass'd girl. So instead of selling her and going down the Impreza route, she's getting a make over as I believe she'll not embarrass herself in the dry.
Cutting a long story short what do I need for a reliable 300-350bhp.???

Current parts obtained are: miltek (cat back), 630 injectors, nice filter, some nice discs and good pads (went for red stuff as have good memory's of them)

She's not mapped yet (injectors not fitted)
What else will I need other than a intercooler??
Fuel pump? Swirl pot? Etc, I don't know.

    Any help is great.

Oh she's had all belts etc changed and runs sweet 54k.

  2. Stronger clutch first off. See so many people go straight to 300+ and then the clutch starts slipping after a month or so.

  3. About 4/5k if DIY build for 330/350 or 7k for a company to do it.

  4. And any ebc pad is not good at all

  5. Was thinking that, but didn't know as it got a new one bout 15k ago.
But if it needs doing I'll keep my eyes pealed
I'm in no rush to finish the job.

  6. I know a lad who had a new one and after 6k when he was running 304hp and stupid torque it trashed the clutch

  7. If you're going over 300 1st thing I'd be doing is changing the internals.

  8. Sell it, buy a Meg 3RS, and just have it mapped to 310-320hp? Maybe even a cheaper option  It is what I did when switched from my Megane 2 and just wanted an overall better and faster car. Haven't looked back a second since.

Getting your 2RS at similar power is a long and expensive road.. As others have said, clutch, internals. But also injectors, fueling system, decat, new turbo (fancy hybrids are expensive, or a Garrett with new manifold..), intercooler.

  9. Not going to spend THAT, so I'll settle for a standard remap plus a few bolt ons.
Stops better and makes a better noise.
    It's all good
Thanks people, but your right if I'm spending that why don't I just get a new car???

  10. Number chasing can be expensive plus there no short cuts and lack of funds for the correct set up and power

  11. Spot on its not all about the numbers. Can you use it?

On a twisty road can't use it anyway, but my big brakes I can  and as long as it dry the fat lass can carry some corner speed.......

But I honestly thought 300 wouldn't of been that tricky.
