Hi Hoping i am posting this in the right place My r26 gearknob had seen better days so orderded will johnson’s kit Comes with machined cone with m10 thread for standard gearknobs. Ebay £7 mine! Glue and modified lifter cone for reverse. Guides fairly easy to follow. Took a bit get the old knob off. Take cover off put screwdriver in hole . Tap , helps loosen it up Once off hacksaw where the metal steps down File and tidy up Chop down reverse lifter bit 10cms long Dry fit and make sure reverse works Chuck glue in reverse mod and the metal collar 15 min at least I then tried to refit gator while it was a little wobbly Best wait a few hours Tidy up done Makes a massive difference to the feel. Bit sharper for changes. Much more positive Might look at his short shifter mod next Well engineered Tom
I’ve been looking at these too, so how much shorter is the lever now then? And what gearknob have you got, looks good?
Would this work with the mk3 as well? I've got a RS250 and have wanted to change the gearknob for a while.
short shift is by far the best mod for a mk1/2 meganesport..transforms the quality and length completely..
