VW Golf R 420/500 - Superb spec

  1. Welcome to my Golf R 3 door advert.

    This is not a standard car but drives very compliant/tractful and is sublime on its VW R-line springs, no knocking harsh coilovers.

    The car is well known at Statller Power Developments, who carried out all the software/mapping and supplied/fitted all the hardware.

    Power delivery is as tame or savage as you want it to be, can happily tootle but can pin you to the seat with a pace to make most cars think twice, really is ballistic and puts it down in a "no drama" approach with the Haldex unit engaging the 4 wheel drive system, when required and resorts back to 2 wheel drive to look after the mpg.

    In stock form it came with all the best goodies you would want from a R -

    * Metallic Shadow Blue.

    * DRL's - day running LED's

    * Racing "R" bucket seats - Gloss back/leather/alcantara combo - electric/heated!

    * Adaptive Chassis Control - I leave in "Sports" mode all the time.

    * 19" Talladega alloys. Wrapped in Toyo R888r's.

    * Tinted electric slide/tilt glass sunroof.

    * Electric/heated wing mirrors.

    * Dual climate control on screen.

    * Touch screen factory colour satellite navigation system.

    * Dynaudio factory upgrade sound system.

    * Media player.

    * VW infotainment.

    * SD card slot.

    * Media hard drive.

    * DAB Digital radio.

    * RCD510 head unit - MP3/Aux in.

    * Mobile phone prep - Streams tunes/hands free from phone via Bluetooth.

    * Adaptive Xenons (Bendy lights that turn around the corner with you, very good indeed)

    * Multifunction flat bottom 3 spoke leather steering wheel.

    * Auto headlights.

    * Auto wipers.

    * Genuine VW rubber mats.

    * ESP - Electronic stability program.

    * 6 speed manual - feels really tight, no crunches at all.

    * R callipers.

    * 2 keys

    * Private plate NOT included

    * Hpi clear on all levels

    * No outstanding finance

    Inside the interior is as good as new, really is in great shape, seat bolsters are solid, no marks, rips, holes.

    Everything works as it should, the EGT gauge is disconnected, but left in due to me replacing Milltek sports cat down pipe with a Milltek de-cat, temps run dramatically lower with no cat holding gas flow back.

    Outside the paintwork shines like it should, benefiting from a Gtechniq 20/11/17 winter protection package. The bonnet has usual minor stone chips but nothing to detract from the overall condition. Couple of very minor age related marks but again nothing serious, just not showroom condition.

    Alloy wheels are all straight but 3 out of 4 have suffered a few minor rash's and if kept longer i would refurb them, not major just pointing out.

    Work carried out as soon as i purchased -

    * Gtechniq winter protection detail.

    * Hunter 4 wheel digital alignment set up.

    * MOT Dec '18

    * Replaced fuel tank sender seal -NEW OEM

    * Replaced alarm/siren. Repaired wiring and fitted new arch liner, stone had pierced - NEW OEM.

    * New Milltek decat downpipe and lambda sensor.

    * Brembo discs/pads front/rear.

    * MFD - VAGCOM switch - read digital speedo.

    * MFD - VAGCOM switch - enable anti hi-jack, all doors auto lock at 5mph.

    R benefits from Full service history, 30k miles VW and 35k miles Total VAG/Statller.

    Haldex coupling oil changed 04/12/14 at 43k miles.

    Cambelt/plugs/waterpump changed 18/09/17 at 61k miles.

    Now for the super good bits which has transformed this already special car in to a super slayer, with a sound note which is lovely to match coming from the Milltek system.


    STATLLER in Sheffield are well reputed for their great work on Mk 6 R's! Once i purchased i spoke Steve who speaks very highly of the car and knows it very well.

    * Autotech HPFP 2.0 TFSI

    * Uprated TTE 420 turbo (The Turbo Engineers)

    * Full true 3" Milltek exhaust with Milltek black tips, looks really smart.

    * Revo high flow intake

    * RS3 in tank fuel pump

    * RS4 fuel pressure valve

    * CTS TFSI race intercooler

    * A/C condenser

    * Revision PCV breather

    * CTS throttle body pipe

    * CTS turbo discharge pipe

    * GIAC software high boost request file

    * GIAC hand controller for different maps/fuel/immobilise

    * Turbosmart boost gauge and OSIR surround

    * TPS Fuel pump follower

    * A/C re-charge

    * Sachs racing clutch with SMF

    All above circa £8k and another £2k on servicing/perishables.

    All provenance available.

    All receipts/invoices present.

    So all in all its a very well specced R with all the goodies, low miles, low owners.

    Yes, you can pick up Mk 6 R's for less, but when you take in to account its great top spec from factory then add the £10k spent in last 15 months it really is worth its money.

    All routine/scheduled service work up to date.

    Steve Statller at Statller Performance has just carried out 06/01/18 health check and a few dyno runs to confirm all is spot on!

    My mechanic known on a fair few VAG forums, SRS/RS 246 CJ "Carl Johnson" was the first person i took it to who was really impressed by the choice of mods and the quality of work carried out. His opinion on the overall condition/spec/mods was 100%.

    Underside is solid and very clean.

    Obviously he drove it and was amazed with its performance.

    Would consider px a nice spec VW T5/T5.1 DAY VAN to value of around £13k.
