1. Whats needed to get this working on a car that wasnt specces with it? Is it just the top screen or is it a replacement radio aswel?

  2. You can't, main prob' is you would need a different wiring loom in the car and loads of sensors fitted, forget it, I had to !

  3. Jamie managed to retrofit the RS monitor to his 250 so it is possible.

  4. Mondeoman your wrong, someone has already fitted one and worked straight away. All tye sensors are already there otherwise how would the engine run. So does anyone know if i need a stereo aswel as the screen?

  5. Then how come 2 Ren' specialists separately said exactly the same thing ? so lets see you do it !

  6. I think he is looking at the RS monitor in the 250 which is completely different to the current version in the 265/275.

  7. Jamies already done it, was plug and play. Im talking about v1 not the newer versions

  8. Jamies already done it, was plug and play. Im talking about v1 not the newer versions. But even so cant see the newer meganes not having the loom ready for a v2.

  9. Managed to find an rs monitor, like jamies plugged in and played. Found it on ebay cheap cheap, the seller didnt know what it was by the looks of it. I took the gamble on it, it was out of a sport but was a different part number to the standard unit in mine. For future reference the part number for the rs monitor is 280340023R.

  10. Haha, you git, i had my eBay eye on that one! Good to know about the part number though!

  11. Very suprised at the lack of info on the units tbf, like part numbers ect.

  12. I'm convince that RS Monitor V2 can be retro installed too, despite what the RS dealers say.

You might not get certain features working if there are sensors missing, but the bulk of the data Monitor V2 displays is standard OBDII data.

  13. They said the same about the v1. The only way is for someone to buy all the gear and fit it.

  14. Id do it for the banter, but not sure id be arsed with looms etc. A bit pricier if you need the remote, the new centre tunnel, and so on.

  15. What was required to fit, awkward job or no?

  16. V1 is plug and play. No setting up via clip

  17. Has anyone enquired into how much a V1 monitor would cost from a dealer?

  18. I think i heard someone say that it was around £100... ive been looking so many bits and pieces now I've lost track of prices!

  19. £100. Is that all?

I'll give my local dealer a call on Monday

  20. Please dont quote me on that! It couldve been the price for a piece of dashboard for all i can remember! Lol

  21. Ah, seen. Nevertheless I'll give em a call tomorrow anyway. There's a post with a part no somewhere. I'll post the results here so people will know for laters.

  22. The part number is further up in this thread chris.

  23. Lol. Realised that after I posted.

  24. Lol. No worries.

  25. Ok, so I called the parts dept at Renault Wolverhampton.

The part number stated above for the display unit came up on his screen as a good number but had a note stating not available so the chap made an enquiry to the main Renault parts HQ and called me back and stated that this particular part is no longer available and has been superseded.

Here's the interesting part. When making the initial enquiry I had to give my VRN (the chap noticed that it didn't match with the part number for my car - so I explained the situation which made it clearer for him). When he spoke to parts HQ they gave him the superseded part number. He then discovered that it is an exact match for the part that's already associated with my car. However, although my car is a 250 Cup it doesn't have the RS Monitor.

He acknowledged this during his enquiry and asked them if it was the same item but with different programming. They couldn't give an answer.

    For info.

280340023R (the part listed above, RS Monitor function included) is £189.95 + VAT. But, is no longer available.

280345867R (the same part number associated with my car) is the superseded item, is available and is £200.88 + VAT

Now. The next question is, what is the part number for the unit in my car? How do I get it out to check? Does the trim surround simply unclip away from the dash?

OP - do you have the part number for the one you took out?

  26. Ok. Done it. For reference, it simply unclips with the aid of some trim tools.

The part no in my car is:

    280346458R

  27. Called Renault again. The unit from my car is £189.43 + VAT and is available to order.

I asked if I could order one and if it didn't have the RS Monitor function could I return it for a refund but because the part would have to come from France they said no. £220 is a quite a risk but if it pays off then I reckon it would generate a lot more orders from this forum as a result.

Alternatively. Those with RS Monitors fitted (250, 265 or 275), could you post your part numbers so we can compare?

  28. 280346458R was the unit in my car to begin with.

  29. Would really like to do this as mine does nothing since having a aftermarket stereo installed

  30. This is epic. Waiting with baited breath for someone to order and fit, if it works I will be straight down Renault. Great work guys [emoji122]

  31. I had some random guy on instagram send me a direct message about being able to sort out rs monitor for my 250, English seemed bad and something didn't seem quite legit so I ignored it!

  32. If I didn't have a 6 yr service and a set of Recaros to pay for this month I would have taken the punt and ordered one myself.

  33. If it really does work and those of us without standard rs monitor can get it then maybe some sort of group buy can be sorted with someone/somewhere, I know I'd be in!

  34. A group buy through Renault. I like your optimism. Unlikely though.

There's circa 5% discount to subtract from the figure listed above if you order through Renault Wolverhampton. They are still honouring the forum discount on all parts. Some attract a bigger discount (brakes etc) but this part will probably only get 5% accord to the chap I spoke with.

  35. Id be in it for the craic! One thing that really interests me is the link between the RS monitor and the throttle maps. Id be certain all the maps are already available on the ecu and the RS monitor is nothing more than a switch.

The funny issue with the superceded part number for the RS monitor being the same as ones that folks have without the RS monitor functionality makes me suspect that with the new part it can be enabled via clip.

  36. That's not entirely correct mate. The non rs monitor part number, the old with rs monitor part number and the new superceeded rs monitor part number are different. See it as 3 different components. 2 SHOULD have monitor, 1 doesn't.

    That's the theory anyway.

  37. Ah, i misread Ryan's post above and thought it was the same part number!

  38. Can I fit a RS Monitor in my 2010 250 Cup, even though I have sat nav (from factory)

  39. If you don't mind losing the sat nav, I'd think so. There seems to no coding needed, but that's a little unclear.

  40. If you guys are thinking of running a group buy I also work for a Renault main dealer and could see what discounts I can avail of.
