Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Lewis, Jan 26, 2016.

  1. As above please. What's actually available as an aftermarket wheel and if you guys have anything non standard please do post a photo with sizing details etc.

    Many thanks.

Theres plenty available, Just for a good set your looking at 1.5-2/3k for them. Joys of being 5x114.3

  3. From my findings with an 18" wheel.

    With a 8J wheel you can go ET38 - ET63
With an 8.25J wheel you can go ET43 - ET63
With an 8.5J wheel you can go ET48 - ET63
With an 8.75J wheel you can go ET53 - ET63
With a 9J wheel you can go ET60

Better to keep the scrub radius similar to stock on the megane 3. By fitting wider wheels you can fit lower offsets and keep the scrub radius.

  5. Scrub radius is relative to the center line of the tyre, so changing tyre width does not affect it, and so you cannot use width to counter offset changes with regards to scrub radius.

  6. Are you really going to notice the difference in scrub radius?? My daily wheels are 18x7.5 et42 and track wheels are 18x8 et45 both drive and feel fantastic

  7. Interesting as a lot of the people I've seen out on track and Nurburg have 18x8J Evo Course wheels ET47 and regarding the 18x8.25J comment thats confusing as thats what the standard 18" OEM wheels are?

The OZ HLT Alleggerita's I've got are actually 18x8.5J ET55

You say with a 9J wheel you can go down to ET45 I'm pretty confident it would fowl the arch though.

I was only simply stating what I believe would fit.

    Current wheels I have are
    18x8.25J ET63
    19x8.25 ET65
    18x8.5 ET55
    18x8 ET47

and all those have no issues.

  8. Any pics Andy of your car with different alloys

I'd love to have a few sets

  9. 17x9 et42 works but needs atleast 2.5degs camber

  10. mie

    Depends on tire width

  11. I'll get some photos up of car in bit, I collected a set of wheels today, tyres aren't due in till Friday.

I've got leather interior to fit, coilovers, brake kit, strut brace, a service to do then it'll be photo worthy.

  12. My advan rs2 9j+63 all around.

  13. These look fantastic!

  14. Any other pictures? Is that ET63? so 18x9 ET63?

They do look nice, minimalist, a bit like the Allegeritas from OZ.

  15. There are a wheel called Autec Wizard (Type W). For the lightweight alloy the price is really good and they look great. You can choose different colours also and ET fitment is available for Megane RS. I think im going to buy those wheels if im getting new RS for me (ideally orange alloys on white car).

  16. What makes of wheels do you have? There seems to be no company who have any clue on sizes for the RS Cup :worried:

Theres literally hundreds of wheels that will fit the MK3 Megane. PCD is very common and there is a list of which offset wheels you can physically fit on them.

I have a set of 18x8 ET35 OZ's to go on mine in the next couple weeks, Offset is lower than i would of liked but at 8kg a wheel they will do.

Could be tempted to sell for something else minds you..

  18. Those the ones from Facebook for £500, Jamie? Great price, though they did look a bit nadgered

I looked at the autec and think they represent a solid option. I have TD 1.2s and OZ Alleggeritta

The team dynamics need 5mm spacers at the rear for some reason

  19. Do you have the list of offsets?

  20. 5x114.3
Centre bore 66.1 (from memory) but spigot rings can be used
Et 45-65 fit without any issues with a 7.5-8.5J wheel

Lower offsets I can't comment on but others have fitted and can advise I'm sure

  21. Im using 18x8 OZ Ultraleggeras now with ET48 and it seems there can be even lower ET before it gets too much out of the arches. It is much better to drive with lighter alloy.

  22. Can I be cheeky and ask how much they were?

  23. I got used set for 600eur, used tyres was included.

  24. My daily OZ Alleggerita wheels are 18x8.5 ET55 got loads of room.

Could run ET40 without issue. Maybe little lower on a 8.5J wheel.

I'm not surprised, they are near enough OEM specs

I'd be tempted to sell/swap my OZ's for something with a higher offer and wider, Mainly to run wider track rubber.

I'll have two sets for sale soon, ie in the next week or two.

A set of cup wheels and a set of R26.R style wheels that came off a Laguna coupe which I was running as my track wheels

  29. Noticed a few mentions of the autec wizards, I have them fitted in 18x 8j et50 (or et52? should check) like the grey color, doesn't look dirty that fast. Quite some wheelgap tough.. IMG_20160825_172846~2.jpg

  30. Ok, ta
Let me know what your after for them

  31. I had the TSW Nurburgring wheels for a while..

  34. I ended buying another set of tyres for my 19's. There's a guy on ebay that sold me a set of 235/35/19 AD08R's for £420 for the Renault and a set of 255/35/18 AD08R's for my track car for £360. That's about half the cost I could find them anywhere!

It might be of use for anyone looking for a very good quality light wheel to know that the Mazda RX-8 PZ OZ wheel should fit. I haven't actually tried it but it's 18x8 5x114.3 et50 center bore 67.1 I think!

This is the RX8 PZ wheel, the set I linked to I think are the same? - could probably get the wheels with a decent set of tyres for less than 400

  36. I'm dying to buy a set of these just funds don't allow at the moment

  37. I'm guessing an 18x8j ET30 would be useless? Set of wheels on eBay I'm watching with this offset but need advise, going by this thread though they won't be any use :worried:.

  38. ET30 would be too much out from the arches i guess..

  39. I put ET30 in my Megane RS 250 with cooksport and cup coils. They touch my rear fenders. I have to modify my fenders and test them in track. RS250ET30.jpg RS250ET30FRONT.jpg RS250ET30REAR.jpg
