Number plate lights - specific to the 225??

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by Giles, Jul 13, 2015.

  1. As title really.

On my mk2 225 one of the number plate lights has the diffuser missing and so the inside is all corroded. The other I've had to glue the seal the cover on as the clip is broken.

So looking for cheap replacements I was wondering what other renaults they are the same as.

They look like they just fit the 225. Is that right?

  2. This is what you want mate:

  3. Maybe just pins not lining up properly mate... or the pins damaged ?

Changed mine recently and really had to push the connector home before would make contact..

  4. I emailed the seller and he says they're the right ones - I'll have another look tonight

  5. The seller replied a few days ago confirming they were correct for my R26 and my installation was at fault.
I had a look just now and the two pins inside each socket were bent sideways so there was no way the plug could go in. Fine, long nose pliers sorted that out. Plugged one in and it worked, clipped it into the bootlid and the lens fell off which allowed the fitting to fall inside. 5 minutes of fiddling got the light out but the lens (which should be glued on) wouldn't stay put. OK I thought I'll glue it, try the other one. The other one didn't work at all.
    Cheap chinese crap
Sellers going to be getting an interesting message from me later!

  6. Can anyone link to a set of led number plate light fittings that work in mk2s ??
The ones I bought were horrific. I've bought some aftermarket kit in my time but these were the biggest pile of S++t i've ever had.

  7. The ones Xenons Online supplied in the group buy fit fine. Not sure if they can order any more or let you know where they got them from. They are an RSM trader. I'd buy another set if they did another group buy.
