picked up my R26 on Friday, i've been after a toy for a while now after 6 years of company car ownership and driving boring insignia's. This will be used as a weekend car for me and gain limited mileage. It's got fully documented service history, cambelt done 2 years 20k ago, original invoice which lists upgrades as 6 disc and black pack, no lux pack or xenons though. I will be giving it a good valet soon. previous to the company cars i had a couple of renault sports, a liquid yellow 182 which i had from almost new and a ph1 172 which i px against the 182. also had a impreza P1, audi S3, Astra Gsi and integra dc5, the list goes on as i did get bored easily all those years ago. The r26 does need a couple of things doing to make it perfect again, needs some decent tyres as they are budget so i haven't really pushed it too much but it does pull well, the rear exhaust mounts need replacing as the tailpipes are hanging low and not centre. drivers side headlight get condensation so this needs doing also. not sure what modifications etc I'll do yet, we'll see how it goes

  2. Hi Lee
Nice looking car, starting to like the white a lot the more i see them.
What part of the country are you in ????

  3. Hi Ian

I'm based in Wiltshire, I do like the white, impressed with it so far

  4. Welcome to the forum

  5. Wellcome mate
    I like white Megane's
    Hope you enjoy it

  6. Welcome along, good to have you.

I had a GW R26 - all the minor faults you list are common really. I'd check the floor pockets for damp too and if found get that sorted (loads of threads on here about it).

What are your plans for it other than this? I can't tell from the pictures but a R rear spoiler really finishes the back off.

  7. thanks

no damp luckily. might be temped by the R spoiler, finish it off. i'm not really sure what else i'll do.not going to rush as i plan to keep it a while

  8. I fully recommend replacing as many rubber bushings and mounts with polyurethane. Improves the build quality feel no end
