What have you done to your Car today?

  1. Installed a new panel air filter from K&N. I don't know how this is possible but there's much more turbo blow-off noise and it's addictive as hell

  2. It's a recirculating dump valve as standard and boosted air gets sent back to the low pressure inlet side.

If you've got a sports filter you'll hear the box charging up when you lift off!

  3. Got some new PS4s on the front, hopefully despite them being summer tyres they'll still work better than the ageing/trashed Vredestein's I had on there. Still got some of those on the back but for a long time they've not seemed to have much traction under throttle, I'm hoping the PS4s handle the torque a bit better.

The shoulders on the old tyres were literal slicks >.<

  4. I sold mine today, loved the car was faultless but wanted a change.

Just for measure also sold my Audi as well.

  5. Swapped my wheels front to back, much to the TPMS's confusion lol

  6. Off for a MOT !

  7. Fitted my newly powdercoated winter wheels.

  8. Sold it:grinning:
Way to many problems for my liking.

  9. After the handbrake seized this morning (-6 deg C) I knocked it off with some timber.

Then I went to work. But I didn't get there because the caliper was still seized and both sides were cooking even without any braking.

So I did this instead of going to work:

  10. How much different does it feel compared to the R ?

  11. Fitted my new Cooksport springs (these are the latest slightly improved versions, they are more progressive and are supposed to improve handling even more over the older ones), top mounts and did a backbox chop to go with my straight through centre section. Sounds awesome, handling is transformed too.

  13. Fitted an ITG panel filter. Not driven it much this morning as only 6 miles to the bus stop so engine only just warmed up, but didn't notice much change in induction noise so far. Got to do the rest of the service now that I have all the stuff from RenaultPartsDirect, plus fit my MrPinks brake pins.

  14. Changed the oil today. The car has only done 6k miles from new but a few track days. I didn't fancy waiting for another 10 months / 6k miles and the first service. Used an oil extractor that took out 5.2L. Didn't change the filter though, shame but too much of a pain on those (for me).

  15. Fitted an Alcantara wheel in Trophy R style (done by Royal Steering Wheels), great addition IMHO!

  16. Got round to removing the "Megane" lettering....excuse the dirt! 20170107_144526.jpg

  17. found the carpets soaked again front and back, drivers side only, i've done the scuttle drains and its completely clear, same with the door drains, any ideas anyone?

  18. Check behind the a-pillar trim for signs of water. I had to reseal the top of the windscreen where water was getting in and running down the pillar. I was actually sat stationary in the car during a downpour and saw the water dripping through the trim onto my leg once.

  19. Air-con drain?

  20. just payed deposit at cgr automotive for my exhaust system cat back....should hopefully be ready for end of month:tonguewink: can't wait for it...belated Christmas present to myself

  21. Check the door seal lower at the front for signs of water crossing here and running down the back behind the carpet. If so its coming in via the side windows, dropping into the door (as designed) and then instead of running out of the bottom at the drain it's dripping onto the door seal and making its way in. Both of my cats had this problem and didn't take very long to soak into the sound deadening.

If you open the door on the relevant side and shake it back and forwards sometimes you can hear and see the water coming through.

  22. cheers for all the replies, i'll be taking the carpet out once it warms up a bit and trying to sort it.

  23. I modulised the sound deadening using a suitable saw. So now not fits in sections rather than a whole price. Allows it to be robed from
Under he carpet just by lifting he carpet a little.
No need to strip the complete interior.

That way you can take t in the house and properly dry it too!

It expands a little so after popping back in place it's nice and right and then I just deal with a line of duck tape.

  24. Also waiting for it to warm up to so I can strip my interior to dry it out. Think mine was the aircon drain though which is now clear. Good idea about modularising the foam.

  25. Done fixing the broken window motor.

  26. ... for now. :fearscream:

  27. Washed and hoovered

  30. New spark plugs and coil pack.

  31. What fluorine grease did you use or did you not bother? I've got spark plugs to fit but read you need a bead of insulating grease around the boot so the coil doesn't fail.

ive never used any grease on mine

  33. I used some dielectric grease I got from the brother in Law who works on Land Rovers. He pretty much showed me what to do. I'm not very mechanically minded.

I didnt even realise it didnt have HT leads!!

  34. Thanks. I'll just bite the bullet and get some Renault stuff. £30+ so it's not cheap. Hopefully it'll last.

As it was a good day I finally cleaned the wheel arches and gave it a layer of 303 Aerospace Protectant. No time to do the wheels

  38. Cheers. Was contemplating getting the wheels done too but the anthracite breaks it up nicely.
