Wipers - Valeo or Bosch?

Discussion in 'Exterior & Bodywork' started by probecomp, Nov 19, 2013.

  1. I needs new wipers for my R26 and can buy Valeo (should be what Renault installs as 'original') or Bosch. The price is the same. Any experiences/preferences between the two?

  2. My Bosch have lasted 2.5 years and only just starting to judder. So my vote goes Bosch.

  3. as above used bosch on both mine no judder or squeeling

These Valeo ones I've got now are wank!

I've heard good things about the Michelin ones too.

  7. Looks like there's a clear winner - Bosch it is. Thanks for your input guys!

  8. I just changed mine about six weeks ago, thought I would try something different and went for the Michelin Stealth blades, must say i'm really impressed.

They are virtually silent in operation and give a good even wipe due to moulding to the shape of the windscreen.

Not sure how long they will last but will keep the thread updated with my findings.

    Dave.

  9. Another vote you're Bosch here

  10. How much are people paying for Bosch?

The eBay ones I got were shit :worried:

  13. In don't rate the Bosch ones at all. I've had a front set fitted to my car for about 3 months are they're done already.

  14. Read about those michelin ones there now, they look the part anyway, will give them a go next time I need new blades.

  15. Ive had bosch and valeo on my meganes but now use trico neoform on both. Very happy with them.

I've just ordered some - I talked myself into it this afternoon - sick to death of these valeo ones squeaking across the windscreen!

  17. +1 for the Bosch Aerotwin wipers from me. I had them on the Clio and they lasted around 3 years. Brilliant wipers.

Just put a set on the Megane to replace a horrible cheap set that were juddering like made after only 3 or 4 months.

I paid £30 delivered included rear wiper from Euro Car Parts. A182S is the front & H230 in the rear.

  18. I've put Bosch Aerotwin, and so far they are excellent! Very happy with them.

  19. I've got Bosch on mine, had them for nearly a year and no problems

Just to update this those Michelin ones I bought are bloody fantastic! Seriously impressed.

Neat little touch is the fact they provide all fitting clips for any type of car so these work on hook types (ph1) and can be changed to fit straight on ph2's too.

Where did you get them from Daz? Are they more expensive than other brands?

Off eBay fella - They were no more expensive that others iirc.

What I like about them is the entire wiper is effectively rubber so it moulds around your window properly.

  23. not being funny hea but carnt fault halfrouds own brand ones after my bosch ones got pinched funds were low so got halfords own and they work brilliant even good at clearing the frost of the windscreen on a morning only a month old so probably brake soon lol

  24. What do the Michelin's look like on the car? They look fairly chunky to me.

I'll take a picture if it ever gets light or stops raining out there!

  26. Cheers daz. Any link to the eBay item?

  27. Can anyone confirm that for an R26 I would need 24 inch and 18 inch wipers?
Also has anyone tried Iguana blades? Cheap in Price but I have heard they do a good job?

They're totally rubber bar the clip by the way, And they look smaller and neater than the Valeo ones I binned to put them on.

  30. They're really neat. I think I'll get some if my Bosch ever die

  31. I've just ordered the michelins off the eBay link above.... Cheers.

  32. I fitted Halfords own. These were confirmed as being Valeo. I personally don't rate Bosch wipers.

  33. They are Valeo, in a Halfords box.

  34. Let us know what you think...

  35. Just fitted the mchelin steath stop my r26 aswell

  36. Just ordered a set of the Michelin wipers from the eBay link above. My 2.5 yr old Bosch are finally starting to judder. I'll update with my thoughts when they're fitted.

  37. Just got the Michelin wipers posted in here, and only one fits my R26 as they BL-2 fitting. Never changed them before but seems they should have the P1-2 fitting.

Anyone got a BL-2 arm adaptor they dont need?

  38. Uh oh. That doesn't sound too good.

  39. Have you seen the below from Daz on the previous page?

"Just to update this those Michelin ones I bought are bloody fantastic! Seriously impressed.

  40. The 24" one does come with loads of adaptors, including the BL-2 adaptor but the 18" one doesn't. It only comes with P1-2, PH-3 and TL-2.

When putting in my 2007 model it only shows the P1-2 so no idea why my mine has the BL-2 anyway.
