As the title really. Was thinking of upgrading my brakepads as they need doing. Will doing so invalidate the warranty, or any part of it?
If they’ve done 8,000 miles it’s worth putting some new pads in anyway, but the squealing is probably just because they need de-glazing and bedding-in again, it’s an easy job to do but if you’re sticking new pads in then bed-in after you have done. 4 x 90-20 mph ‘emergency’ stops in quick succession and then as many miles as you can without touching the brakes afterwards to let them cool down properly (say 10 miles). Quiet long motorway slip-road late at night is best place for this and then drive down the motorway for say 10 mins to let them cool down without touching the brakes.
If your upgrade is to an OEM spec pattern part then no effect, but if you pop in some race pads that are not strictly road legal then Renault could use the pads as an excuse to deny a warranty claim for a failure that may be associated to the performance pads.
That's more what I was thinking when asking the first question. I know it's opening a bag of worms, but what do people recommend as a good pad considering the car is my daily driver, often around town.

Page 2 has 275 products. Don't know if they're the same or not. oem is original equipment. Ring George at Road and Track Race Parts, he's helpful.
depends on what you want to do with the car... If your going to track it, then I'd say yes you would be better to upgrade to something more suitable, but if not then there is no need to have anything more than OEM as they are good enough for pootling around with. There would be no issue with warranty claims for using different pads

Oh I for sure would love to, but I don't have a garage or anywhere to store the required parts. If I was going to do it properly I'd need at the very least a new set of wheels with some trackday tyres. My PS4's aren't going to cut it I think. I'd take you up on a passenger ride though
Sorry mate, I could've sworn you said that they were squealing hence me whaffling on about bedding them in. I must've been reading another post at the same time...!
I did mention it originally but amended the post about two minutes after I originally sent it as I got my answer from a Facebook group after I posted. You obviously saw it in those two minutes . Still very useful information though, and they are squealing.
